Poisoned and going down…
Poisoned and going down…
Poisoned and going down… I’ve delivered the scroll, acquired the antidote from Marek and I’m still dieing!
Saw Lothander in BG1 > he told me I was poisoned > had the scroll from Jalantha Mistmyr from previously killing her and her crew earlier (yes, I was bad, sort of) > met him at Blade & Stars and gave him the scroll > killed Marek at Blushing Mermaid and then gave myself and my crew a swig of his antidote along with an additional swig of the standard green bottle antidote each and I’m still dieing !
I’ve checked over the floors in both places, haven’t dropped anything and can’t find Lothander anywhere to chat about health and life after I saved “him”. It’s an awful death – can anyone save me. Can’t give you gold or points, but as Tenya – the Sea Queen said “I’ll owe you a favour…”

Have your pc and the rest of the party drink the antidote a couple of times. At least that worked for me the one time I encountered that problem - uh, IIRC.
You don't have to use any other antidote potions since they won't have any effect on this particular poison at all.

Let's Say it's a bug - how do I correct it...
You don't have to drink the andidote, it's a trigger in the quest script that heals your characters.
So say the death thing is fixed - how do I cheat the program into making me well again. It seems to me that a cheat is ok here in order to over come a bug and allow me to continue to "play the game". I do not want to go back two days and have to evoid Lothander's turf to stop this problem from happening again. I have never put a cheat into play before, so I would need to know the detail in full. That is if it's possible... Thanks!

Sonovagun! I played the game I don't know how many times and I always drink the potion three times or something, just to be sure!

Could not enter CLUA command

As per one of you're other instructions on the 21st/July/05 I did the following, however I could not get the CLUA command to enter the requested dialogue box –
(opened up Baldur.ini) in C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur.ini
I entered Cheat=1 directly under [Program Options] and saved this file.
Re-booted windows and started Baldur’s Gate and loaded my last save.
When I pressed CTRL+Space together as indicated in you’re instruction the
game would simply Pause (this double command acted only as per the single space bar command,
as a Pause and Resume toggle) It did not give the option of entering a command line
such as The antidote: CLUAConsole: …
What did I do wrong?

Gordon

It's been a long time since I used any CLUA commands, and when I did it wasn't very often. I suggest downloading a game editor. Gatekeeper is a very good one.

Coot's link doesn't work cos his url is http://http//www.mud-master.com/ when it should be http://www.mud-master.com/
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.
The infamous bug
Uh... right! Copy & pasting mistake. Sorry.

Hi Coot:
BG staff advised me of this rare version bug and gave the following answer. I have yet to apply it, as in the meantime I started playing EverQuest II online, as this month I have connection, at least some of the time. Will get back to BG after that, miss it all ready, but enjoying EQ2. Thanks for you're help!
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! I've done a little research on the issue and it seems that this is a very rare bug with this particular quest. If your running the 5 or 6 disk version of the game I would suggest you download and install the latest patch for your region found here: http://www.bioware.com/games/baldurs_ga ... t/patches/
After you have the patch installed (or if your game version did not need it) you will need to reload a previous saved game from before the issue manifested (before you encountered Marek and were poisoned) and either attempt the quest again or avoid it.
