I've been playing Neverwinter Nights, Shadows of Undrentide as an evil Sorcerer (playing evil is actually quite fun! I usually play as good or neutral or somewhere in between).
Now I have gathered up a lot of crap in my inventory. A lot of it seems to be "ingredients" to other things. I know in the original NWN campaign, a lot of these things are used in forging weapons (ie. combining them with a weapon to make a better weapon at a store). But I can't seem to find anyone who can do this.
Some examples of these seemingly useless items are: Gargoyle skulls, amethyst, greenstone, adventurine (spelling?), some other gems, berries and so on. I've picked up an "Alchemist's Book" which says mixing those berries with an empty bottle can make me a Barkskin potion... but it doesn't seem to work (how do I go about making this potion?) It also says Quartz is a common item used to make weapons more powerful... again, I don't know how to do this!
So, can you shed some light on what these items are for? Do I need some specific feats to use these items? This stuff is really clogging up my inventory and is weighing me down... but if they ARE reagents towards making me more POWERFUL, I'd rather hold on to them.
Thanks for any help!

Most of the items (if not all of them) can be made at Drogan's Labratory (2nd floor)

Most of the gems can be used to make those crystals you use in your ring (Mystra's Hand) which is given to you in Chapter 1. After that you don't need any gems as far as I know.
Spoiler, highlight the following : The Quarts combined with the paladins (whats her name) practice sword in chapter 1 can be made into a powerful weapon. You can find the sword in her chest in Drogan's home.
Edit: Oh most of the other items you can make from the stuff you have should be mentioned in the walkthrough on this page

Hmm interesting, so it seems most of the stuff is useless then?
I also have some meat, fish, etc. which seem useless. I don't think I can eat them (ie. to raise health) and I really doubt I can use them to "enhance" any items I have... so I guess I'll just toss 'em.
