Proficiencies - ToB

Post by Shaughn »

I had a question, and figured you guys would be the people to ask! I'm about to start a new game in BGII and go through all of it and into ToB, which I just picked up.

My character is going to be a Monk, but I was wondering how I should choose my weapon proficiencies for the other NPC's. Maybe even a little adivce as to which NPC's which would be good to bring along with me through ToB? I don't know what weapons will become better and what new ones will be thrown in.

Any advice would be great!

I can honestly say, that EVERY weapon type in the game has some really great weapons, especially in TOB. I would take a look at the main page and look at Cespanars Forge, so you can get a taste of what is to come in TOB. It also depeneds on the character you take. IE, if you have Korgan, he already comes with Axe and Hammer Proficiencys. But rest assured, you can get great weapons for any profeciency.

Thanks! Should I focus more on Sword and Shield style, or two weapon? Not sure if there's any really sweet shields in ToB other than what's in SoA.

Go for dual weilding. The bosses have really good THAC0 anyways, so they've got a good chance of hitting you, and the TOB weapons are so good you're missing out on a lot if you're not dual wielding.
