Fugitives on Telos (spoiler)

Post by Loumbas »

There are some figitives I was supposed to find and I saw them in the Czerka office and they were going to be shuttled away.

I even have an entry saying this and I told Grenn about it and he says go find them. Except they are not at the docks (I mean they are supposed to try to leave).

Should I had attacked them there? I dont think I got a chance.

So what happened to them?

You will meet them latter on when you are with Bao-Dur on Telos' surface. You should have told Grenn you killed them and you would have got the reward for doing so. You still have the oppertunity to kill them, however, I don't know if revisiting Telos laster will still give you the option to tell Grenn.

I recall seeing the escaped criminals on Telos' surface only once out of about 9 games.

Did you go to Czerka offices before you went to the surface everytime? Otherwise you wont see them.

Yes, I had the quest and, yes, I was in the Czerka office and saw them run.

There is supposed to be one other encounter: after the Czerka offices the two criminals flee to the Czerka docking bay in module 126; you should be able to catch up with them there, although you won't be able to stop them leaving the Citadel station.

I don't know whether that encounter is vital to their appearance on the surface of Telos, but it appears that - under some circumstances - they don't appear at all there.

There is a fix (for the PC version) from the TSL Restoration Project, but it does make some small change to their initial appearance in Jana Lorso's office (fix from here).

Okay, this just bites.

I started a new game of KotOR II over a month ago, maybe over two months. I was bored, but I found something else to entertain me. Anyway, I remember specifically thinking that I would figure out how to see those two fugitives on the surface. I started playing it again last night, wondering if I might find the fugitives on the surface. And guess what: I have! Now, I have no clue how I did it, what specific chain of events led to this point, so... this bites.

Okay, I think I understand now. I had a theory about what I was planning in my months' old game. I didn't tell Lt. Grenn about the criminals in the Czerka offices. I waited to talk to him until after I went to the surface, because when I went to talk to him, he was still waiting for information on the pair.

According to an FAQ on a rival site (I won't post the URL, as it seems a bit rude to advertise a rival here!) you need to do two things to make the criminals appear on Telos:

1) If you're doing the Light Side path, you must get the quest from Grenn and enter the Czerka offices to see the criminals before choosing to work for the Ithorians. If you working for Czerka, it doesn't matter hen you get the quest.

2) When you run into the criminals in the Czerka offices, you're given a choice of dialogue. They will only be there on the planet if you choose the line where you try to stop them.

I haven't trialed this extensively myself, but my own experience, over 3 games where I can remember what I said, agrees with it; when I tried to stop them, they appeared; when I didn't, they didn't.

I have tried and tried to complete this quest many times...

 Still no luck, I can't seem to find the sneaky little... When I find them, I'm going to make their deaths sloow and painful!!!
