I think I'm a little thick. How do I recruit Handmaiden? Thanks!

SPOILERS

It will be automatic if you're a male pc. Highlight for bigger spoilers (there will be a cut scene after you board the Ebon Hawk, in which she'll appear). If your pc is not a male, you will not recruit her, but receive another character instead a bit later in the game.

And by the way, the other character you get in Handmaiden's place (Disciple), blows.

No, he's an insult to all of humanity, so to speak, and he's an insult to the Soldier/Consular build. Disciple = 4/10. Handmaiden = 8/10, half of the time.
