Most irritating thing

Post by obadiah »

BG2 has done a great job of fixing most of the little problems encountered in BG. No longer do you have to spend 10 minutes looking for the door to a house (if the house even has a door), the characters no longer prevent other characters from moving to where they are supposed to go. Characters do a much better job of going where you tell them to, without deciding on taking the scenic route and getting lost on the way there. Shop keepers will buy any merchandise, not just a few specific items, etc...
But there is one thing that really irritates me - When you go to talk to somebody, and they are too busy or occupied to talk with you, especially when it is part of a quest.
Usually all you have to do is quick save, and quick load, and the problem is fixed, but sometimes, you have to try everything under the sun (like leaving the area to another area or resting in an inn, or quick loading 10 times, etc..), and still the buggers won't talk to you.
Is there some special way of making sure that somebody will talk to you (I don't care too much about the commoners or whatnot, but when a quest character won't give you the time of day so you can finish your quest that really gets me!)

Yeah, this is an extremely well-known problem. Simply download and install the latest patches and the problem will be fixed.

Good luck.
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.
