Need Help in Spellhold

Post by WalkingShadow21 »

I have just gotten into the first dungeon and have killed all of the kobald things, but I cant find the third crystal! I can see the big pink crystal but there is nothing for me to grab. All I can do click on it and it says that it has a strange glow and something to do with the kobald creatures. Am I forgetting to do something or do I have to start all over!

1st Dungeon

You'll have to be more specific... The only kobold crystal I know of is in Spellhold, and it automatically appears in your inventory...

If you're looking for one of the keys in the intro level, let us know what door you can't open, and we'll tell you where to look...

Help in Asylum

In the first dungeon, I know that I need that guys hand to open up the giant head and that I need to power it up somehow. Im guesing that you power it up using the three crystals you find. The problem is that I cant get/find the last crystal that the kobald creatures worship. What is going on!

Well there's a great chance that you've missed a Kobold, they don't always spawn in that room and there's a spiral loop that they sometimes appear in. Only once have you killed each and every kobold will a kobold shaman appear and once you've killed him you'll recieve a crystal piece.

Third Crystal

I'm still wondering why you think you should have three crystals.. You'll only get one from those kobolds, and it will automatically appear in your inventory after getting them all. Kill the first "wave" of kobolds, and another group of them appear. Kill them, too.

The crystal has nothing to do with the door, but with a coffin... Hint...

Dace's Coffin should be clicked on after getting the crystal; you'll get his hand. The hand opens the head.

You don't use the crystal to get Dace's hand. You need to get the wooden stakes from the crystal chamber (unless you already have stakes) and stakes that vampire to get the hand.

I already got the hand and I've walked through the dungeon multiple times looking for more kobolds to kill, but there arent any around. So right now I have no clue as to how to open up the giant head without the crystal. WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG!

Did you find the room with the big standing crystal in it?

Yes, and I have killed both waves of creatures and I didnt get any crystal. All that I can see that changed is that there is a white flame in front of the crystal, but I cant do anything to it. Is there anyway to start the chapter over? I really dont want to start over because of how far I am.

A clua answer

Here's an if all else fails answer:

Turn on the Clua Console and code in the things required:
Dace's Hand:
CLUAConsole:CreateItem("MISC9A")
Kobold's Crystal:
CLUAConsole:CreateItem("MISC8Z")

Read this link for instructions on clua...

You can also try to skip to the next area, but I'm not sure which area code comes next...

The crystal should automatically appear in your inventory once the flame anim. has played on the crystal. Was the inventory of your party's leader or your character's inventory full.

It could have been dropped in an obscure location. Try using TAB and if that fails use CLUA.

What is CLUA. Is there any way to start the chapter over, or start the dungeon over?

I may be completely wrong here but it seems like you have all you need. Have you tried talking to the head statue? I have often been stuck at the head because I expected it to happen when I placed stuff on the near-by altar. Just click the head with the crystal and the hand in your inventory. - Curdis !

CLUA is the console system to BG2. Find your badur.ini file and add the following under [Program Options]:

Debug Mode=1
Cheats=1

Save it, exit. When you play the game, press CTRL+SPACEBAR, and that will bring up the console. Then you can CLUA in the commands stated above to recreate the crystal.

I wouldn't
What is CLUA. Is there any way to start the chapter over, or start the dungeon over?
If you read the thread I pointed you to, it might contain instructions on changing the chapter though cheats, but I wouldn't try that if I were you... That's more trouble than it's worth...

Changing the chapter won't help. You need to revert to a previous save. If you don't have one that is convenient you will probably need to use the CLUA cheat or get ShadowKeeper.

But try going back into the room with the crystal. Sometimes when you kill all of the kobolds too quickly, it takes a moment for the script to figure out that you have done it. But if you wait around by that flickering avatar, you should get a message that says something about having destroyed all the kobolds and the crystal should appear in your inventory.
