I was thinking about making a Fighter/Mage~>Maurauder/Battlemage~>Warlock. What would be the best race for that type of combo?

I'm not speaking from experience with this game, but having played many, many RPGs over the years - both online and solo - and looking at the beginning stats for each race; I'd have to say a human male is your best bet. They start off with more STR and VIT than a Wylvan, Thrall or Elf and more INT than Dwarves, Urgoths or Zaurs. Very nice rounded stats for a lvl 1 character. I've not played a human in this game, but I suspect they have no penalties for stat increases such as STR for Wylvans or INT for Urgoths making it relatively easy to increase all their stats.
