problem with my kensai/thief. help!
I started ToB and at that point my Kensai was a lvl 18. I immediately dual-classed her to a thief and now she's a lvl 23 thief. The problem is, she still hasn't gained any High Level Abilities! I'm getting miffed!!!! Is there something wrong? is this supposed to happen?

You need a least 3 millions XP in your active(s) class(ses) in order to gain your first HLA. The following level-up after you have passed the 3 million XP cap will give you an HLA.
Dual-classed characters receive their first HLA when the 2nd class (Thief in your case) is at 3millions XP or more (next level up).
Multiclassed receive their first HLA at 3 Million TOTAL (1.5 Million / 1.5 Million)
Single-classed receive their first HLA at 3 million XP.
Dual-classed characters receive their first HLA when the 2nd class (Thief in your case) is at 3millions XP or more (next level up).
Multiclassed receive their first HLA at 3 Million TOTAL (1.5 Million / 1.5 Million)
Single-classed receive their first HLA at 3 million XP.

Thief will start to gain HLAs at level 24... next level in your case.
EDIT : Since you're fighter levels have eaten 2,500,000 of your experience, you will be able to reach (8millions - 2,5millions = 5,5millions) level 30+ as a Thief... so you will have 7+ HLAs. I haven't find an XP table for ToB, but if you want, look arround at http://www.sorcerers.net to see exactly how many HLAs you will be able to aquire with your Kensai/Thief.
