Xzar...did this jerk screw me??
Xzar...did this jerk screw me??
Early in the game I turned Xzar and his quest down. Due to his bad attitude and the fact that he was asking me to go against the Harpers, I thought it would be a bad move. Now I find out that you need his quest to trigger the Harper's quest and the Jaheira romance. Can I simply go back to him and accept, or have I turned off the necessary triggers permanently? Anyone else make this mistake? Thanks in advance for any help.

yes you can. I do this becase.... well I dont want to ruin the game for you.
By the way jaheira romance is the HARDEST in the game and is also very buggy. If you have a problem whit the romance use The search button. there are a lot of answers to problems there.

Hey! Thanks for the speedy help. And yes, I have been shielding myself from most spoilers, but I had heard enough about how difficult Jaheira was that I did take a look at some of the info to make sure I was on track. I let Aerie down easy at Jaheira's request and don't have Viconia with me... so there is no going back now.

Had a similar problem with Xzar - I refused to free Montaron for him and axed Xzar for reneging on our deal (he did just ask me to find him...). Then I found out about the problem this would cause with the romance plot. I just CLUAConsoled another Xzar into the game, and he immediately re-started the quest for me. Since you've already got the bird, just give it to him and you should be on yr way...
