Plausibility in VtMB

I was playing through Santa Monica the other day and it occured to me VtMB is a very good game but lacks realisim. For one I have never known anyone to have eyes that are any shade of yellow or purple. Secondly what kind of police officer keeps on Aviator Sunglasses on in the middle of the night that have a black tint (Former Troika develpors explain yourselves). Thirdly in the World of Darkness it seems there are only three makes of computer and two makes of laptop, or our vampires only allowed to buy boring computers in shades of biege and black, and ugly laptops, the insanity. The thing that bothered me the most is that my Vamp steps into his steezy Haven, boots his computer, and WHAt A TEXT BASED OS, Noooooooooooooooooooooo....

Also you can pull out the bloody arm from Gimble's Prosthetics in the street and the police officers and civilians don't seem to mind. Maybe they were already to desensitized by playing Grand Theft Auto: SA that they didn't care.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I wear sunglasses at night. I sometimes wear sunglasses in my apartment with the lights off. I can see clearly by starlight, even in almost total darkness, and the light of the moon is frequently too bright. The light of the sun is *ALWAYS* too bright.

Just because most people can tolerate the light of the sun, or the moon, doesn't mean that everybody can tolerate it. I specifically order prescription sunglasses with 14% transmission neutral gray, because that is a good compromise between protecting myself from the light of the sun, protecting myself from moonlight, and being able to see. The dyes that they use for that deep a tint tend toward the red end of the spectrum, which helps greatly with dark adaption. I can drive at night wearing sunglasses as long as it isn't heavy overcast and a new moon.

As odd as it may seem, there are those of us who are apparrently allergic to sunlight. The light of the sun is frequently painful to me, and I've actually been knocked on my butt by the pain of emerging from a building into bright sunshine.

Perhaps it is people like me that provided the myth that vampires are allergic to sunlight, although I assure you that the only blood I drink is mine and my female partners (with their consent).

1) One of my eyes has a tint of yellow, so you can't say that no one has yellow eyes, or eye... my cousin also has this trait, but in both of his eyes.
2) Some people do wear their sunglasses at night. Like me... I do it, mainly because my other glasses are dirty and I'm too lazy to clean them... but still. Especially in larger cities do you see people wearing sunglasses in the evening.

Not to go off topic, but the myth that Vampires have an intollereance to sunlight has to do with a certain form of iron deficiency, this condition causes lowered resistance to U.V. radiation. Blood is one of the top sources of iron, and naturally, those who have insufficient amounts of iron must find a way to replenish it... Vampirism is a common "treatment".
...I listen to waaaaaaay to many boring and pointless stories.
Anyway, back on topic. I agree with what you said about light. Some people are unable to tolerate anyform of it, so wearing sunglasses at night is naturally a remedy to this problem.

Well I were goggles while night skiing but they aren't a shade of black, they're more a brown,pink, orange tint. Also poker players were sunglasses to hide their eyes and celebrities were them to disguise themselves from the paparazzi, and some people just wear them "for class". I know this is going overboard but some of the ingame physics are messed up. Speaking of which shouldn't that arm from gimble's gone through rigor mortis why does it flop like that?

Depends how long the arm had been on the table. A few seconds and no, it would be floppy. More then a day or two, and again, it would be floppy once more. The rigga sets in after a while, and fades away again a while after that.

But, if it helps you enjoy the game, keep picking holes.

Which does, of course, beg the question why Gimble, who clearly has a lot of experience with dismembered limbs, did not use an arm in rigor for the rigidity. Maybe he hoped to take advantage of the flail effect of the loose elbow for additional force, or maybe he just didn't have any suitable ones laying around.

Ah, but that would be to pre-suppose that there are no such things as vampires. It's very hard to prove something doesn't exist merely because you don't have one in your hand.

Then you haven't been around, much, because there are sites with all kinds of restrictions, and some of them relate to "profanity." Please read the rules of this forum you joined. This site is located in the US, has been around for more than 6 years, and doesn't plan on shutting down soon because parents report us for displaying bad words to their kids. Keep that in mind.

And perhaps more to the point, while the game is 18+ and has the characteristics you say, GameBanshee has no such restrictions. There is no reason at all why one of the members of this forum couldn't be a 12-year old.
