Skull of Death

Any who have not been to the Underdark and done the mission with the imprisoned mage should read no further.

In the walthrough on this site it says that if you kill the mage that you rescue from imprisonment after he has been through all the elemental gates you get something called the skull of death. I didn't kill him as I'm a good boy. I haven't been able to find the skull in any of the equipment lists of this site and I was wondering if someone could tell me what it does, just for curiosity's sake.

The skull of death is a simple unadorned helmet with the special ability to cast the Death spell once a day. Good for getting rid of pesky summoned minions and other rabble but in my opinion not very useful compared to the direct benefits of even a helmet of charmprotection. The Death spell simply does not work on the kind of critters you are up against in the game.

Early on the death spell is incredibly useful.
