How do I boost Dak'kon's Morale?

hey i have another question relating to this, does anyone know all the ways in which you can increase dak'kon's morale? The obvious ones are teaching him the circles of zerthimon and having him translate the arm, but what else can boost it? talking to some of the githzerai in the lower word (and other places) would seem like it would lower his morale rather than raise it. So how else can you raise it?

This is one question that I would want to know the answer. I can't find any clear hints anywhere.. :(

In what regard exactly? If you are talking about morale as in "morale-failure" I can't say as I've ever encountered this in PS:T.

If you mean how can you cheer him up in a role-play sense the, well...you can't he's a slave and nothing short of his freedom will cheer him up. I'll not say anymore as it is very much a spoiler.

I think it's in regard to getting the best upgrade for his Karach blade, which is affected by Dak'kon's current morale...

Dak'kon is lawful good. As long as your choices in replies and actions generally fit that category, he'll keep feeling better about things. And of course, going through the entire spiritual discussion with him to the end will improve his morale considerably.

I believe Dak'kon is Lawful Neutral, fable. :)
So I would say tailor actions towards Lawful as much as you can- that will be the overriding principle.

He is Lawful Neutral.

According to Platter, who knows far more about Torment than I do, morale in Torment resets to default in a short period of time (which explains why so many of us have had trouble getting the blade upgrades). Check out the thread here. I do not know the relation of morale to evolution in dialogues (which do seem to happen, regardless.) However, this would indicate your best to go through a thorough dialogue and do morale boosting actions just prior to the appropriate level for the blade upgrade.

As for a complete list, I'm not sure there is one or that any of us can rattle off specifics off the top of our head. You might look at a solid walkthrough, like Dan Simpson's and look for the spots he highlights.

Which begs the question, how do you raise the morale of a neutral character?

By being lawful? It's the alignment of the modrons too.
Presumably being chaotic would only decrease his morale :p

So are you suggesting that all those "I'm Adahn" answers will make Dak'kon more miserable? Or that taking a "good" course and finishing quests that don't involve the lawful/chaotic barometer won't affect him, at all?

So, do your indirect actions directly or dramatically affect the morale of your companions? Meaning, is your companion's morale boosted by you performing actions that are consistent with your alignment? Somehow, I was under the assumption that there were just a limited number of actions that affected each companion.

I think the only thing you get from boosting Dak'kon's morale is the streaming blade, which is not as good as the chained blade.

Generally be nice to him and his kin. Do what seems like the "right" thing for him.

Also, whenever you have the chance, bind yourself to him through oath and promiss to release him at any cost.

I don't know if that's always the best option, many of the vows make him feel you've just bound yourself as much as he is. Not neccesarily a good option.

Actually, despite his responses it does increase his morale. He'll get mad but secretly admire you for doing so apperently. Just one of the little twinks that make PST so great, not everything is obvious. :)

IMHO individual characters morales seems to be broken...maybe an afterthought by Black Isle which never got finished properly.

Morale gets reset after a period of time to it's default value...which in itself seems strange....Actions from either NPC's or PC's should change the morale of your companions up or down, but it shouldn't change on it's own.

Dak'kons Zerth blade should react in real-time to Dak'kons current morale, and not according to levelling up. So Dak'kon feeling good at Level 4, will have his Streaming Blade, but if you tell him he's your slave and lower his morale, the blade should change there and then.

If anyone wants to Streaming Blade by the way, I can provide a script whereby you hit a hotkey to improve Dak'kons morale, just before you do a level up to 4, 7 or 10.
