Stuck in the demon area!

Post by Damn Snakes! »

I was between gates, and I came to a gate (Volgar say something about learning about real power) and 2 big demons come out and some red guys and a couple of eyeball things and I defeat them all but the gate won't open! I go back to the other gate and nothing happens - there is a third gate, but when I go there nothing attacks, and nothing happens --- so I have a dead gate, and two barred gates that won't spawn anything and won't open... am I done? deadly bug??? I will be soooo #@$#@@!!!

Dang that's rough, so close to the end. I think all you can do is see if there is a demon stuck it the wall of that last gate. You maybe able to reach it with a blast nova, lightning spell, maybe a summoned creature could find it or maybe go around and hack at the walls, whatever you've got. There have been many threads on this bug. Do a search I know some have gotten the gate to open. Good luck, D
PS when your character is close to a creature he'll go in to that fight stance when standing still even if you can't see the creature. Maybe using that you can search the wall.

thanks for the advice... but no luck

I tried walking up and down and around the whole area... I know this small zone very well now... I found a couple of demon gazers behind the wall, but after I killed them, nada... I even cast a troll on the other side of the gate... he just stood there and roared... I guess I am finished... damn shame...
I am not sure I will start another character... I am afraid he will just get hung up somewhere along the line - I have had to reload old games several times due to "traps" like getting caught behind an opening door, hung up on a wall and unable to move free, etc. these to me are terrible design code flaws in an otherwise decent game... your character is allowed a lot of room to roam and a lot of freedom in this game (except once you go in to the black swamp maze... it is finish or bust from there...) but if there are game ending (permanent flaws) traps based on random game playing decisions, then the player really need to feel paranoid about each decision he or she makes... I just am not real happy right now... 30 plus hours I would rather have back at this point... oh well, got to go out and mow the lawn...
