BREAKING NEWS: DL Reporter killed on the job!

Post by Kel »

Late yesterday a DL reporter was killed while covering a local Hero on
an Island in the Northwest territories. The reporter said to have been
called “Bradley” while accompaning local hero “Kel” was searching for
a rare beast reported to be guarding this Island. He rather foolishly rushed
into a Shrine where the hero was fighting off three of the beasts.

The Magic Reporter’s Guild said that Bradley who had done rash things
before managed to get one picture from the ‘relative safety’ outside the
“Shrine of Celestial Power” of the hero bravely defending himself. The
picture posted with this report will also be posted at all of the branches
and schools of the Guild as a lesson about rash actions.

The local hero said that when he noticed Bradley entering the Shrine on
his left side tried vainly to get to the reporter and get him to go to the
safety of the water. He said that unfortunately one of the beasts called
a Moonbeast had got to Bradley first and here we quote the hero “ The
Moonbeast had chunked and decapitated the rash reporter before I was
able to reach him”.

Realizing the extreme danger he had put himself in trying to save Bradley
the hero attempted something called a backflip which he says is a defensive
manuver. He said the maneuver worked enough to allow him to escape the
one beast that was still attacking him. He was heading to the safety of the
water when he noticed the reporters 'Xatnepmagic Imagizer' and made a
quick grab picking it up. He felt that anything Bradley had managed to
capture should be returned to his Guild.

The Magic Reporter’s Guild asked the hero what had happened to the two
other Moonbeasts that he was fighting and again we quote him “They were
busy munching on the remains of poor Bradley. Reporters do not belong in
such dangerous places as he almost got me killed with himself.”

The hero who named himself “Kel” currently studying with the Celestial Guild
as an Adept/Mage/Paladin having reached the safety of the water stopped
and said a short petition for the little that remained of Bradley.

too much Time.....is that possible?
someone has too much time on their hands
Hi EvilGopher, thanks for the response.

I actually thought almost the whole thing up while hacking away at a
Moonbeast. I would say that I definitely was busy at the time. I had already
got 10 screenshots of the three attacking me after which I attempted the
backflip to get out the shrine. The backflip was partially successful enough
for me to step backward out of the shrine.

Two Moonbeasts were stuck in the shrine allowing me to merrily hack away
and it takes alot of hacking to kill even one Moonbeast so I was busy and
my mind came up with the basic idea for the post. I would have counted
how many hacks it takes to kill a Moonbeast but my mind was busy.

The Moonbeast battle screenshot turned out pretty good with blood flying and all.

The Original Idea behind this Thread.

This post was originally meant as fun but as I played the game
and found out that it was nowhere near being a finished product
when it was released I became an unhappy gamer. This game
had never reached even Beta stage when it was released and to
think I had paid $40 to $50 for the game.

I have never played any game that was released in such an
untested condition and if it hadn't been for patch 1.3 I most likely
have thrown it in the garbage. I have seen posts calling Dungeon
Lords a great game and in my humble opinion it is only a fair game
at best in it's current condition. I did have fun playing it but that
doesn't make it a good game.

I enjoy all sorts of reading but my favorite genre is Fantasy/Science
Fiction but I also have read some of the best Authors in other genres
and enjoy them. I could not even begin to list all the authors I have
read but in the last 35 years I have read over 3500 novels and that
doesn't include the books on Astronomy and Cosmology, Herpetology,
Geology and other topics including Photography.

I have no regrets over reading any of the novels I have read no matter
how bad they turned out to be. The reason is because they were finished
products and also not as expensive as the computer games I play. I made
a major mistake in buying this game because I relied on a gaming magazines
review when I should have found this forum and found out how "Gamers"
felt about this game. I always have several games waiting to be played
and would have skipped this one and moved on if I had found this forum.

We as gamers have the right to expect a finished product for the money
we pay and that doesn't mean they can't patch a game to fix minor problems.
Will you see a "Patch 1.04"? I doubt it and have bet a friend and fellow
gamer $50.00 that the patch doesn't happen by April 15, 2006.

We as gamers also have a responsibility to let people know about any game
that is this bad. I suggest that you write an email to every PC gaming
magazine and let them know how you feel about a problem game but do
so in a nice fashion or they will trash your email. I am curious to see what
stand the gaming mags will take if we did this.

This is the first gaming forum I have been a part of and it has been an
enjoyable experience so thanks to GameBanshee the moderators and all
of the members. I am glad that I was able to help some of you and thank
those who helped me. I am still subscribed to three threads because I
am interested in you and your characters. I don't have much time for more
right now.

How can I have read all of those books and played computer games. I am
a disabled veteran unable to work for the last 27 plus years so I have had
lots of time to study many things.

Wishing all members "Good Gaming" and better games!
