What's your favorite party?
Well, I ran a search on this and what I'm posting didn't show up, so if there's a thread like this already, close this one and I'll post in the other one.
What's your favorite party that you have made? I liked my all drow party, here it comes:
Illendith-lawful neutral drow warrior. Served in the Vhaerunian army in a war between Lolth worshippers and a Vhaerun worshipping camp, but the numbers overwhelmed his allies and he was lucky to escape from the carnage of his camp. He took to traveling, but where ever he goes stones are thrown at him and he is not trusted. He headed north, hoping that people there would be more tolerant of drow, having heard of the traitorous drow Drizzt. He follows orders easily, and although he fights on the front line in the group, he only follows orders from Sarclen.
Sarclen-lawful evil drow priestess of Talos/sorceress. Grew up in the same camp as Illendith, but left, not accepting the worship of Vhaerun. Illendith came across her traveling the coast, praising the god of destruction and storms. She wishes to see the destruction that the goblin horde has caused, and the storms of the north, and perhaps add to the destruction by raining arcane fire upon the goblin horde.
Tosun Mi'delarnia-chaotic evil drow barbarian/thief. Tosun got drunk in a tavern in Menzoberranzan one night, and woke up in a jail cell. Apperantly he had been praising Ellistrae, a goddess he utterly despised, in his drunken state. He escaped the cell, and fought his way to the surface. The drow didn't bother following him, thinking he would die after a few days on the surface. He did not die, however, but became a wild warrior with no concept of being defeated. Until he came across Sarclen and Illendith, and was utterly defeated. Illendith and Sarclen said they would not kill him if he traveled with them and helped them fight back goblin hordes in the north. He agreed reluctantly, but on the condition that when the goblin horde was defeated, he could leave the group.
Hopefully this is the only thread like this here, but if it's not, sorry. If this is the only one, What's your favorite party?

Bow down to the overmind, and submit your brain to the great minds that think alike!
I like my party I'm using at the mo. Here goes
Kayless (sorry, I thought the name would fit, which it does)
Human
Neutral evil - Rouge 1/Fighter x
Kayless, whilst growing up, was always the toughest kid in town, until one day, his town was attacked. It went by the name of Easthaven, one of the 10 towns. Whilst having a look at his spoils on the beach after a recent mugging, he was about to go back home and sleep a well earned sleep when he heard the screams of his fellow townspeople. Then his true self was revealed, a coward, like most bullies. Being a coward, didnt mean he couldnt run though. Kayless ran from Easthaven and for a long while became a wild boy, slowly losing his mind in the cold North. Years later, still losing his mind (or what was left of it), he stumbled into Luskan and upon hearing news of the mercenary bands being sent into the north, he instantly set off throught the throng of people, eager to find some lonley soul, crazy enough to go with him and perhaps help him get his mind back!
(He's particularly fun to play, especialy with the custom soundset for a pshyco)
Seamon (Goes with the soundset)
Human
Neutral Good - Barbarian 1/Druid x
Seamon was an average boy, in a wandering barbarian camp. However, on one of their stops at a cave they usualy inhabit whent passing through, their was already a band of adventurers there, Seamon instantly made good friends with an unsavoury fellow named Hidence, who was an up-and-coming monk. Due to bad weather, the two parties were forced to share, both weary and not in the mood fopr battle. Two days after first meeting, Hidence had an idea. Since both of them were bored with their lifestyles, Hidence thought they should both run away and become famous warriors of old. Liking the idea, and also being fairly dull, Seamon agreed to the plan and left with him the folling morning. Since then the pair have been wandering through the wilds gathering knowlege from other travelers and folling their seperate paths to power. Seeking to know more about the world, Seamon sought to be a Druid, whilst seeking power, Hidence became a sorcerer. After succsessfully slaying a-few giant rats in a random villigers cellar, the pair were in a local tavern getting hammered, when a man calling himself Kayless told them of the riches to be had in the mercenary buisness and of the boat to Targos. The two instantly said they would aid Kayless in his efforts to...do whatever it was he wanted to do. Upon waking aboard the Wicked Wench the next morning, Seamon knew he had made a bad choice when he left his tribe.
Hidence
Wild Elf
Lawful Evil - Monk 1/Sorcerer x
Even before he met Seamon, Hidence always wanted power. He was angry at his masters for not letting him advance as a monk, as he was sure he was ready. But when Seamon and his tribe stumbled into his camp, just inside the mouth of a cave, Hidence had a plan. Two days later, him and Seamon were on their way to Luskan, in search of gold, and power. After defeating some immence foes in a vast labryinth under one of the villagers houses, he and Seamon were having a quiet drink in the local tavern when a madman wandered in. Seeking more puppets to increase his power, he listened to what the man had to say. Upon waking aboard the Wicked Wench the next morning, Hidence knew he was infact, not ready at-all.
Jared
Human
Chaotic Evil - Demarch Of The Mask x
Jared was happy to be able to rob from the ship "The Wicked Wench", that he thought it would be ok to just rest for a while, as no-body had been on the ship for a-few days. Bad move. Upon waking aboard the Wicked Wench the next morning, Jared started to think if theivery was the right proffesion to choose. Seeking help in this harsh place he awoke in, he could only find Kayless. "Oh well, guess I wont die just yet"
Amaya
Human
Chaotic Evil - Necromancer x
Its hard now-a-days to find a good body to raise from the dead as a servant, hooked on your every word. Whilst walking down the street on cold winters night, Amaya saw three tough looking men pounding their way down the street, towards the Wicked Wench and got an idea. They, in her opinion, didnt look like they could kill a goblin if they tried, just mere ametures. These Three men would prove perfect servants in her band of dead. After following them on Amaya thought she could use some sleep and when she woke up, saw that the three men had become four. Using her natural charm and good looks, she magaged to persuade the group to let her come with them. "Hmm, I'll go for the scorcerer first..."
Quite long I know, but I get too into it (know what I mean?)

my fave party is always my next one...
as usuall the party isn't set in stone yet but should look something like this... i tend to flesh out backgrounds as i progress throught he game rather than having the whole backstory ready before i start.
tiax tangleknife (uses the tiax soundset) i blame the jupp for this one, utterly mad gnome, totally powergamerish build rogue, monk, cleric, illusionist, maybe even druid. lv breakdown: monk 3 rogue 4 cleric 3 druid 3 ill 17.
i like the insanity of the tiax set, though i picture tiax as more of a "supersanity" type being - drawing on very impressive intellect and cunning along with a vast array of skills and knowledge. when he is at his most manic or random he's actually totally in control but so far ahead of everyone else - he only looks crazy.
found on the side of some road. indeed.
gladius gronnk.
a bit of an experiment, a 1/2 orc transmuter and part time full on barbarian. the perfect witch dr. uses male 1/2 orc soundset, and a dalen red tiger port. still working on the first name, looking for something pompous to pair w/ the guttural "gronkk"
decided to use him as part of a twin birth idea w/ the next char...
oogilith gronnk. female 1/2 orc monk. i totally blame myrophine for this one, though it seems a solid idea if totally unconventional. female 1/2 orc port & voicepack.
i liked the idea of two freakishly strong 1/2 orcs in nonconventional roles - my current party uses a 1/2 orc pally / ftr which totally dominates in "normal" mode, and i've yet to really use a monk. should be interesting.
i still need some form of cleric - i'm leaning towards an asimar pally / painbearer (also links to the monk of the broken ones, and story line) otoh i also considered another freakishly strong 1/2 orc this time a priest of tempus. or go with deep gnome dreadmaster w/ some illusionist levels. story wise the painbearer makes the most sense. i suppose a human trifecta of pally, cleric and monk could also be considered...
my sorc is also still in the flexible stage, may go w/ wild elf sorc / bard. as i've played so many pally / sorc's i'm bored w/ them. drow also seems like an interesting choice though that may dictate a pure class sorc - and that bores me.
sorc seems to be the hardest to "replace" i just can't seem to do w/o at least one.
and in the 6 hole...
another wildcard...
thinking of maybe a tiefling demarch of mask / rogue. 2 cleric levels / rogue level. though that would leave me w/o a druid and i tend to rely on a lot of barkskin... maybe the real anwser is a druid / rogue tiefling... makes for a nice contrast w/ the asimar - there could be some form of connection there - i see them as long time not comapnions, but they clearly know eachother, and have shared company though they have different origins and natures - they have their differences in common when compared "normal" humans. if male would use cernd's voicepack, faldorn's if female.
--
of course i lean heavily on "the hand of fate" to bring such an array of pc's together for this quest, at the same time consider this..
that pack of measly 1st level weenies is gonna crawl off the wicked wench and in the course of a few months of near constant battle will have defied the odds and march off into the pages of legend. or if you consider normal mode as prologue to hof they will attain epic status. hand of fate? indeed.

Know this is a little off-topic but didn’t want to start a new thread just for this quick question.
Can a Paladin of Mystra that multi-classes to a specialist wizard still advance in paladin levels? I’m assuming that you can multi-class to a specialist wizard.
Once I’ve got my party sorted I’ll post it. Currently stands at a half-orc barbarian, wild-elf sorceress, human druid, dwarven battleguard of templar, and half-elven bard.
Cheer peeps

I'd guess so in my experience specialist wizard and wizard are exactly the same.
For example I had a rock gnome rogue (2) wizard (X). If you bear in mind that a rock gnomes favoured class is supposedly Illusionist (specialist) you'd have thought he would have received an XP penalty but it didn't happen.
To keep on topic I cobbled this together out of characters I've really liked from other games but not tried this lot together yet.
Aasimar Paladin (3) Fighter (X) - Tank/Diplomat/Secondary Mage Killer
Tiefling Rogue (2) Ranger (X) - Scout/Mage Killer
Shield Dwarf Battleguard of Tempus (X) - Healer/Spell Sword
Human Barbarian (1) Druid (X) - All Rounder
Tiefling Rogue (2) Bard (X) - Thief/Diplomat/Loremaster/Support
Moon Elf Sorcerer (X) - Bombardier/Archer

Yes, I'm quite sure a Paladin of Mystra can become a Wizard and go back to Paladin, like the Ilmaterian one can similarly become a monk and go back.
'Battleguard of templar'? Do you mean Tempus?![Stick Out Tongue :p](./images/smilies/)

Yeah, sorry. I noticed that after I had posted.
I know they could multiclass to a mage but I wondered if it would still count if it was a specialist mage, say an illusionist or a necromancer. I'm guessing from Raven's answer it should be fine. Cheers.
Paladins of Mystra are weird though, they need stats in just about everything! Keeps it interesting at least.
