Right, I've just completed the Planar Prison and have taken Haer'Dalis into my party for the first time ever, in my last (aborted) playthrough my PC was a blade and I want to see if HD is as good.
The problem is that I have Yasraena in my party too (for those who don't know she's a CG drow fighter with grand mastery in short swords).
Now, for the moment this is not a problem as both of their personal weapons are better that what's currently available, but later on they'll both have to upgrade. I think Yasraena will do better dual-wielding the sword of Mask and Cutthhroat that HD, but he can't go on with his +2 blades all through the game.
So, how to spend his proficiencies and kit him out? I lean more toward role-playing than power gaming so what better suits the tiefling? Long sword and katana for Celestial Fury and Blackrazor combo? A pair of flails? Scimitars? What do you think?

-----------
From a Roleplaying point of vue, I would see Yasraena dual-wield Short Swords and Flails, Long Swords or Bastard Swords, since these weapons seems to be used by drows alot.
Haer'Dalis should go for exotics weapons (Scimitars, Katanas), simple weapons (Daggers, Staves). You could also have him wield uncommun weapons such as Spears, Clubs or even Halberds. I would, however, use his dual-wielding ability to maximum.
Weapon Choice :
Yasraena
- Short Sword of the Mask
- Flail of the Age
- Equalizer
- The Answerer
- Foebane
- Angurvadal
Haer'Dalis :
- Belm
- Spectral Brand
- Celestial Fury
- Dak'kon Zerth Blade

Sorry, stupid of me:
Sorcerer PC: Staffs/Daggers
Saerileth: Bastard Swords/Hammers
Yoshimo/Imoen: Short Bows
Jan: Crossbows.
Thanks for your input though I don't think I'll change Yasraena's wepons of choice- certainly not for the foreseeable future- I'm using the Grand-Mastery patch and it'll be ToB at least before she reaches that level with another weapon.

What's that old saying that great minds think alike? That's pretty much the setup I was going for with most of my party.
With regards to Haer'Dalis, I think you're right the 'exotics' are definately the way to go- I'll have him wield Celestial Fury/Dak'kon's Zerth Blade for a while, possibly picking up Blackrazor in hell, and ultimately going for Spectral Brand/Belm for ToB- after all the weaker enchantment doesn't matter if he gets an extra attack!
As for Yasraena, again it'll be a while before it's worth changing her from short swords but ultimately I think she'll be an engine of destuction dual-wielding flails so I'll keep FoA and DoE in my bag of holding until then.
Cheers, SP101.
