Drizzt?
Maybe baldurs gate 3 could have something to do with Drizzt? Simply because you encounter him in the first 2? (By something to do with, I mean as the PC.) After all, as the most known character in fantasy there arent any games about him.

LOL, when I first met Drizzt in BG1, I had no idea who he was! I couldn't tell that he was anything special, other than another NPC with whom you could interract. BG1 actually caused me to read a few more FR stories, and I picked up a few with the Dark Elf in them. Even so, he was never more than a little easter egg to me.
While a cameo by Drizzt in BG3 would feel a bit over the top to me, I think the tradition of easter eggs should continue. Unfortunately, I am doubting that BG3 will ever be made.....

That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.
I'd actually rather see Drizzt and his friends left far away from a BG3. I always thought that Salvatore's characters in those books were a bit cheesy, actually. As such, including them in BG and BG2 was not something I particularly liked.
I concur. I never really liked them in the games either, apart from the fact that it's a challenging random encounter (no time to place traps and prepare spells) and give you some nice items. Another gotta-do for the powergaming party.
Though I wouldn't mind him showing up a shorty, since he did it in the two others.
Please no Drizzt if BG3 ever comes out. This character is the most overdone and overhyped character in Forgotten Realms. (and that goes for all drow PCs )
I'd rather not have him anywhere near my game.
Agreed! No more Drizzt ever- unless you get to kill him off permanently and he is never mentioned anywhere ever again.

Amen!
Drizzt just doesn't fit IMO to BG serie, so why should he be there in BG3?

So, basically, the majority of you would like to see him in the game ONLY if you could kill him? Maybe for a quest or a bounty? Hmm, I guess the guys at bioware over used him just a tad bit

I cant believe the anti-Drizzt consensus! the guy's a legend, if a fictional one! I personally hope he's in BG3 and every game after that!
There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Unverse is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
There is a second theory which states that this has already happened

I agree with Sonorara and the rest. Drizzt have a large number of books about him, a game where you meet him (Don't know if there are more about him) and 1 out of 5 players you meet on the net is a dual scimitar wielding drow. No more!

I also agree...I don't really have problems with the drow in general, seeing the Drow city and society in BGII was interesting, but Drizzt and co have been novelised as well as having cameos in the BG and Demon Stone games. He may be inspirational to some, but surely it's time for new or at least different charactetrs to be involved.
Having Drizzt appear in a game just for the sake of it (or even other famous FR characters) justs seems completely pointless to me.
Yes. Precisley. I think we should wipe drow out from BG 3 all together. no Viconia. No more underdark, no more sendai. nothing. no drow.
amen.
i've had enough drow, seemingly they crop up in every computer d&d game, i'd rather see something completely different.

"all around you is tinder for the gods"
We should start brainstorming....Lets see...
How about...what have we had? Giants, Drow, Vampires, Mages, Deamons, Dragons, plenty of humans(how can you not?)...Um...Rhakasha's. Satyrs. Archons. There are so many creatures we could have, we just keep using the same ones over and over.

Whatever happened to my ICED TEA?

I'm glad this thread has degenerated into an anti-Drizzt rant page, because it gives me another opportunity to spout off about him
. He may be a legend and all, but I'm throughly sick of the dude. Salvatore has overdone him (the Drizzt series should've stopped right after The Silent Blade) and I'm sick of him easter-egging my Forgotten Realms games up. Let Drizzt slowly disappear into the shadows like other fantasy characters already!
