I've been addicted to FO2 for yrs...but I cannot figure out how to use or even if I CAN use some of those random items in the game...can anyone out there tell me howto/if I can use Holodisks, Chem journals, tech manuals, radios, motion sensors...cheezy poofs, hmmmm anything else? Any other juicy tidbits of info?

Most of it is just vender trash. Radio is used un some mission (maybe it was the first one?) but the holodisks are useable. Right-Click and use it, it'll load into pip and becomes readable. Once that's done you can dump the disk unless pip notifies you that the disk is needed for a mission.
I cannot tell what you and other men think of this life, but for my single self, I had as lief not be as live to be in awe of such a thing as I myself.

Journals - if you mean books - then they can be read for an increase in skillpoints.

Cheesypoofs are used for a quest.

Motion Sensor can be used, by equipping it (although I rarely did myself, found it useless)

As said above, the radio is also used for a quest.

Actually its only "Vics Radio" that can bee used, found in Vics house in Klamath...

The books that can be used are Guns and Bullets(smal guns), First Aid Book(really need a hint?), Dean Electrics(Repair), Big Book of Science(care to guess?) and Scouts Handbook(Outdoorsman).

The merchant in San Fran. also has an object that looks like the big book of science, but its called chemistry jurnals, I have never found anny use for this one.

If u want more info, have a look at the Nearly Ultimate F2 Guide:
