I've been reading alot about people who say that boots of speed do *not* work with items that grant free action. Well, I've just finished SoA and through most of it (well, since Asylum) Saerileth has been wearing both the boots and the ring and has been moving at the right speed all the time, i.e. as if hasted. I also know for a fact that previous games have produced the same effect.
My point is, are those who say they don't work together simply spouting unsubstansiated drivel or am I playing a bugged game? Or are you?

Well, you seem to have some mods installed. I believe the Baldurdash fixpack actually fixes that free action error. I'm not 100% sure that the bug affects everyone. But it does affect many players.

The order that you equip items can affect how their effects function. The Baldurdash readme doesn't list 'correcting' the Boots/Ring interaction since the Ring should block the increased movement granted by the Boots, though other mods (Ease of Use and Improved Items the most prevalent) tweak item behavior. If you're playing an unmodded game it's probably got to do with the order you equipped the two, otherwise it's probably an effect in one of your mods.

If I'm not mistaken wearing boots and the ring of free action can work as long as the ring is equiped after the boots; unfortunately entering a new area or loading results in the effect of the boots being nullified.
Or is has in my games anyway.
