Slain by the Slayer

Something strange here. I tried using the slayer ability (or turning into the slayer, or whatever) and after winning a battle, my character immediately died. I tried this several times. My character is an LG Undead Hunter. Does being a paladin make it impossible to use this ability? (I'm too lazy to search the rulebook).

You can only turn in to a slayer for a limited time.Maybe you are staying a slayer to long.I played a Cavalier and didn't die.

Hummm, haven't used this ability much due to the reputation loss but the Slayer may get bonus hit points that exceed your character's normal allotment and he suffered enough damage to take him below that after he reverted back to 'normal' form?

Nope. What happened is that you stayed the slayer too long. If you stay the slayer for a certain period of time, you start taking damage. You will continue taking damage exponentially until you revert to normal form. It limits the use of this godlike ability.

which is good because then the manical tyranical Weasel cant use it aginst us for very long.
