How do I enter the Dragon's Eye?

Post by liorde »

As stupid as it may sound, this is quite an issue for me...!
After my pass through Kuldahar I am now on my journey to Dragon's eye.
Upon arrving and after the battle with the slamanders and their priestess, I suppose I should enter the Dragon's eye, but the in the world is the entrance...?
Assuming it is thay eye itself, the mouse cursor does not change shape so I cannot advance anywhere...!
What gives??

BTW, my game is not patched. Could this be a bug in the unpatched version?

Thank-you.

Just checked it....

It is the eye, where you should get in.

Maybe it´s a bug.... Have to wait and see what others have to say about it,

Please do check it. Really stuck here.
If this is a bug... what can be done? If I patch the game, will I be able to use my old save files?
Will I be able to use my characters??
I really dont want to do that though...!

Yeah....
The eye it is, I guess you have yourself a problem there then...
I don´t think that it´ll affect on your saves anyhow, but do as you like... never can be sure :)

Such a strange problem... unpatched<-------problem I think.
Maybe someone who has more experience about these things can help you more.. I wasn´t much of a help I guess :p ?

I am thinking, could I have missed something before...?
I killed the Guardian, I was in the underground temple, visited Conlan, Iselore, Nathanial, Jemsy, mother Egnia, Hispherapus (or whatever the name is)... What could have gone wrong?
After I received the direction's to Dragon's eye from Iselore I did not go there immediately but rather tracked back to Kuldahar pass and did the Hisporapus quest. Could this have caused the glitch?

This is some serious stuff I am dealing with here...
Is the enrance to dragon's eye very obvious or is it hidden like the Disarm traps switch on the skeleton pole??

Please advise...

If the fight outside the entrance has gone correctly and you disarmed the traps using the skeleton pole, then it should be correct. Try moving the mouse cursor around the entire eye area, particularly where the path ends and just behind there.

You should be able to patch the game and use your old saves though you can copy them somewhere else to use as a backup if it stops working. Should be fine though.

Have you checked walkthroughs and stuff.

AFAIK there should not be any reason not to get in even if you missed some quest since you have already gotten yourself to that point. I don´t also remember that it would be hidden or trapped....
I just killed the Frost Salamanders, Izbelah and entered... no problems whatsoever. :D

Must be some bug that we are dealing with here... Never before have I heard of such problem... and if that would be because of the missing quest then somebody would have had that same problem earlier I presume.

Get the patch and try... And make backup saves

Hello again,

I have not checked it yet, but there is definitely something wrong here guys...
I did check the walkthrough published on Gamefaqs.com. The section describing the part of the game is simply, before entring and after entring... this trivial.
So I am starting to think that there really is something messed up here :-\
Going back through the game again, is totally not an option, not now in any case.
Worked very hard to get this far!

Man, how do I stumble on these things...?!?!?
Can someone please tell me what are the quests before this part?

What I remember are these:

Nathanial, Jemsy, Mother Egnia, Hisporapus, Iselore, Yuan Ti underground temple, Guardian (BTW, there is a case where you kill the guardian but for some reason you are LOCKED in that area and you can either quit or load game - this has also happened to me !!)

Please advise.

check this out please ....

"As you approach the end of the bridge you will be confronted by High Sorceress Izbelah. It is very important that you do not kill her. You must attack her until she teleports away. The entrance to Dragon's Eye will now be open behind where she stood. If your party has taken a lot of damage return to Kuldahar to rest before entering Dragon's Eye."

This is what the walkthrough here, says about this part of the game.
I actually killed her right on the spot. Man, how can I know not to do so..!!?!?!? You really have to read the walkthrough before playing. Doesn't make sense to do so but here, it may be the reason why the entrance did not open...

What do you guys think ?

That makes sense, actually. Izbelah is supposed to appear later on, presumably you take her to the Near Death state, but if you're unlucky you'll do enough damage to kill her. Try loading an older save (if you have to one of the Autosaves from important game points), it may be a way back, but it's probably one of the only options. :(

You don't need to read the walkthrough to get that though, I think you were just unlucky, and the game implemented a failsafe so you didn't meet Izbelah later when she's supposed to be dead.

Problem solved

I found an older save file. The problem was the fact that she dies in the batlle.
This sucks. If I had not read the walkthrough I would have never known this!
And if I did not have an older save file (no too old) then I would have had to back track to who knows where...

Anyway, I am just complaining now.
Problem is fixed, for now, I am now in the Dragon's eye, level 1.
See how it goes there.

Thank-you!
