What True RPGs Do You Play (Not VG)
Im talking about a bunch of friends sitting around playing RPGs with books, making your own charicter from scratch, rooling dice and having fun adventures that you do not expext but only the GM knows.
What do you play?
(Me)
Shadowrun
Rifts,
Dungions and Dragons.
Warcraft
and a few of are own the GM created.

Even if this thread started a few days ago...
...I'd still like to answer.
I started with Midgard some 14 Years ago and it is still my favourite RPG.
Then I tried MERP and I hated it from the beginning. So after the adventure was over I never did it again.
My third one was Vampire-The Masqerade which I really fancied. Unfortunately I moved to another town so we could not meet again.
Then I played GURPS in several settings and found it great.
AD&D was quite O.K. but I never liked the -how is it called- fight-system? (I translated this one word by word so I hope you understand, what I wanted to say) Some of the rules I really found mad but the real huge world and many different settings were really great!
At the moment I wait for the Cyberpunk-round to be restarted and when we are through the story I will master the same people in Midgard again.
Oh, Red Raven, you play Shadowrun? That was the game, where you need a bucket as diceshaker right?
Best wishes

P.S: In GameBanshee there is an own Pen&Paper forum. If you want to talk about these games you'll maybe get more replys there

Let's keep things on topic folks.
For me I currently have no time and play no games but here is a brief list of the games I have played. (There are many omissions)
D&D (Basic, adventure game, 2e, 3e, 3.5e)
Marvel Superheroes
Shadowrun (2 and 3e)
Call of Cthulthu (d20 and Chaosium
[7th ed I think?])
Star Wars (pre-d20)
Alternity
GURPS (Cyberpunk, Fantasy, uh.. About 20 other worldbooks that are a sleep deprived haze)
Rifts (see GURPS)
World of Darkness (Vampire, Mage, etc.)
Lots of other stuff I can't really recall at the time.

I've played DaD forever but i also like Starwars, and BESM is awesome as well as D20 modern and Angel wars which is weird but fun.
He stood
his sword ready waiting for death
and when his enemy asked
"why are you not afraid of death"
he answered
"for I have no love of life"
his foe attacked
and died
and The hero stood
staring at the stars
wishing he was dead

WOTC's Star Wars
Castles&Crusades(It's like a remake of 1st&2nd edition D&D)
Decipher's LoTR (It's ok but I preferred 2nd ed Rolemaster with the MERP books)
Dragonball Z (I play this with my nephews)
Warhammer Fantasy 2nd ed.(This one turned out to be alot better then the 1st edition Warhammer and they cleaned it up very well I highly recommend it)
Trying to get my brother to bust out the old FASA Star Trek cuz the one's from decipher and last unicorn were kinda <snip>.

D&d
i been playing D&D for about 8 years now at least 2-5 times a week still have the 4 core embers with probably over 3 dozen guests/ long term friends in our games over the years. every version of D&D since the mid 90's we have moved on from one edition to the newest whenever we get the chance to purchase upgrade books. i would love to chat about adventures we have had or you all have had comapre characters and what not.

* D&D, always.
* Vampire: Masquerade - we have a weird one currently, vampires and a Mage. It's an unsteady alliance at best...
* Marvel d20 currently on break, it's a very short 1-2 hour game per week that's quite fun and not serious at all. (We fought Oprah in our last battle... )
* Ravenloft.
* Considering a Star Wars game.
Not all of these are weekly games... some are every other week, and the Marvel game is pretty much whenever we're bored. The vampire game is serious and once a week, usually 8 hours long. It's quite fun.

In some sort of order since 1986:
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay
Palladium
Robotech
Cyberpunk
AD&D+2nd Ed
Shadowrun
Star Wars
Ars Magica
World of Darkness
Call of Cthulhu
Torg
Deadlands
Härnmaster
7th Sea
D&D
... and now I'm back where I started with Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2nd Edition, still the coolest setting, with and improved system.
