I've had this game since probably the year it came out but never really played it till now. Anyways, I was wondering how you learn new spells? Do you just gain new ones as you level or do you learn them from scrolls like in Baldur's Gate. Also if you do learn them through scrolls, then how do you do that?
Pool of Radiance only has sorcerers who choose spells when they level up, similar to the sorcerers in BG. There are scrolls in the game that spells can be cast from, but none can be memorised.
They can be cast be right clicking to bring up the menu and selecting Arcane Spells, then choosing the level of the spell you want to cast. Resting allows you to refresh the spells (so if you chose Magic Missile as one of your spells you would have the ability to cast it again, the amount of times depending on the level of the sorcerer).
To cast from scrolls, find them in the Inventory part of the menu and select a target for them to be cast on (as applicable).
