Will User and Combat Multiplier..

Post by Iseldiera »

Hello everyone.. PC Version Fable:TLC here.

Finished the game as a good guy with maxed strength/melee way and now I want to play it as an evil will user.

Started again, did a few quests (hornet attack, escort traders, etc.) but I seem to notice that it is nearly impossible to get my combat multiplier up as a will user. Everytime the mobs manage to get near me (it ll be easier after i get force push, i know) but lightning or fireball spells do not seem to increase my multiplier at all.

My question is, to get combat multiplier and good exp, do I have to use a bow and sword? Cant I just go around killing things without using some steel in this game?

Any help and tips would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Iseldiera

You can.

As you say, it will get easier, however it's hard now.

But in all these games, the characters that usually start the hardest become the easiest, because you are playing long term now, instead of short term like other characters.

Also, as soon as you can, you might want to pick up the Dark Will User's Suit, it should help.

Keep on trying, don't give in to using weapons.
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.

Yes you can ,
lightning/fireball do not add very much to your CM.
The spells that give a lot of CM points are internal warth and devine fury.
I wish you the best of luck not using any weapons.
Hope you make it. If you do post us a screenie will ya :)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned using Physical Shield yet. So, when you get the chance, invest in Physical Shield :D . Just make sure you have lots and lots of mana potions, you should though since you are a pure caster. I did this build awhile ago and the easiest way to level in the beggining is to save points and kill bandits over and over till you have enough for Physical Shield and Enflame. Hope that helps.

Enflame is good. I was doing Save the Archeologist quest last night (the one where he is being taken to the prison ship by Jacks minions), I would run through the monsters using Force Push, then when I got to the last mob in the area I'd cast Slow time and just dodge all of their attacks. Once all of the monsters gathered around my area I'd recast Slow Time and then bust them up with Enflame. I killed everyone in the last area of the quest in like 5 or 6 Enflame casts and finished with a CM in the 30s.
Killed the monsters more quickly and with a higher CM than when I went through as a melee fighter.

Its very possible to do this game as a pure Will user, it just takes more preperation and a lot of Will Potions (my guy has like 500 or so on him right now :P )

And yeah, I wouldn't make any character w/o Physical Shield.

If you want high combat mulitpliers as a mage, I'd probably go with spells such as physical sheild (goes without saying), chain lightning, and enflame. I don't have TLC but from what I hear the divine fury/ wrath thing are decent. Thats really the problem with mage character. If you want help with your mage I recomend this site, the guy has some good tips:

i could suggest infernal wrath. This is what i did: I purchased over 100 mana potions, and went off to prison path, ran around for a while to gather enough undeads around me. Activated Physical shiled and waited untill they all were close enough me. Then i hit them w/ infernal wrath, ca-cihng! Cm 41. though i had the thing on lvl 3 or so...

that trick works very good in the arena as well.
Maybe not for the last 2 rounds but in all the previous rounds you can get a kick ass CM.
