Cannot Advance in the Fighters' Guild

Post by Dyre Straits »

I may be stuck at my level in the Fighter's Guild. Percius tells me that he won't have anymore Orders for me until I reach Guardian level. Fire-Eyes in Balmora has no more Orders for me and tells me to get further Orders from the guilds in Ald-ruhn (Percius), the guild at Wolverine Hall, or Vivec. Well, the dude at Wolverine Hall tells me that he has no more orders for me, either.

AND, per one quest, I've wiped out the guild in Vivec. So, it's looking like my hopes of any promotion have vanished. The Vivec leader, Hard-Heart, was taking bribes or something from the Camonna Tong. So, the FG is approving of my taking care of him for them. I've also gotten Fire-Eyes and Hrundi (?) to 'join our cause'. I just can't get a promotion now.

I'm playing the PC version and it's patched to the latest patch.

Is there anyway I can get Percius to give me advancement to Guardian so that I can continue my quests for the FG?

Ok i assume you've clicked on the advancement thing lots?

If so have you got the required skill levels for advancement?
Eg.... 70 points on one skill, 25 points on two skills.

(axe, blunt weapons, long blades, heavy armor, armorer, block) are the worriors guild skills i believe.

thats all i can think of....

Thanks for the reply.

If all it is is a matter of learning skills, then I'll try again after more training and/or experience.

It should tell you somewhere what the advancement requirements are. That can be accessed by clicking or hovering the mouse over the Fighter's Guild name in the groups that you belong to on the stats and skills screen.

Also, open up the screen that has all your skills. In there it says what organisations you're a member of and what the requirements for the next level are.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you all. I appreciate the replies.

I had some computer problems that took a few nights to resolve. Thankfully, it was resolved without having to reformat.

Anyway, it appears that I have enough Skills to warrant a promotion in the FG. However, there's one Order that Percius gave me that didn't go well. It was the one up at VAS where I was to assist another member and she got killed. Evidently, this hasn't set well with Percius. If I even bring up the subject (which I avoid entirely now) he says, "Well, she's still dead. I don't know whether to believe you or accuse you of murder."

I'm presently doing a few "Orders" from Darius over in Gnisis. When I ask him about Advancement, he tells me that I can fight along with the best of them, but, I have trouble following orders.

So, maybe this is a blot against me and, whether it helps or hinders my progress, I'm not sure.

I'm including a link to a composite of my skills and level so that, if anyone has further suggestions, you'll know where I stand.

Darius in Gnisis is not the Fighter's Guild, but the Imperial Legion, if I remember right. They are different guilds.
If he says "trouble following orders", that is because you have just started the Imperial Legion quests (I assume that is the case, since Darius is the only one who let you join the Legion, so you must be doing one of the early quest for them).

What did Percius says when you ask for promotion? There's usually some clue what is missing for advancement. If you ask him (or any Fighter's guild masters) for promotion, and they always says something about the Vas quest, then I don't think you can advance there any more.

Yes, I do realize that Darius is an Imperial Legion leader. It just seemed that there was some relationship between it and the Fighters Guild somehow. Maybe I'm imagining things.

Anyway, Percius tells me that my devotion to the FG isn't in question. But, I need more experience. Do more Orders for the FG.

Well, he's the last one I can do more orders for, and he won't give me any until I'm a Guardian. AND, I can't get advancement without doing more Orders. Fire-eyes and Hrundi have no more Orders for me, either.

It's looking like I might have killed off Hard-heart in Vivec too early....before doing quests for him. However, some of his quests were discouraged by Percius when I consulted him about them.

So, here is where I am.....as for the FG.

I'm continuing quests for the Mages Guild and Imperial Legion now.

I've already made Master Thief in the TG.

Have you done quests for Lorbumol? He's an orc (I think) in Vivec.

Yes, it was actually for him that I did a few quests. However, when I attacked Hard-Heart, he and all the others in the building at Vivec came to his aid and were killed in the massacre that followed. So, there is NO ONE left in the FG at Vivec. It's now a storage place for me.

with out being able to do the quests for vivec (ALL of them) then you have been what is uncommonly refered to as being poodled in the face while looking in the same direction. ie no can do

Well, I'm far enough along I guess I'll just have to proceed and forget about it.

I'm sure there are other quests I'll miss out on, too.

EDIT:

Well, I've pretty much decided to put this FG thing to rest. There's much too much else to be done to be spending anymore time with it.

I've already done a few other things and have now left Vivec City for some place in SE Vardenfell to accost some outlaw Telvanni. It's possible I'll find a massacre there and have to deal with the outlaws.

In order to get there, I've decided to skirt the coast using Water Walking and have stumbled upon some more locations to explore. One of those is a TREMENDOUS GOLD MINE of supplies. It's an underwater Sepulchre with an Imperial warrior laid out on the deck of a small ship. What a find!!!

Hahahaha! I made Guardian in the FG!!!

I'm not entirely sure just what made the difference, but, I just now went to Hrundi at Wolverine Hall and asked once again about Advancement. He told me that I am recognized and that I am now Guardian!

So, it's not a lost cause afterall.

EDIT: It's even better than that! I just spoke to Percius and, after telling him that Hard-Heart is dead, he named me the new Guildmaster of the FG!

yea, thats what happened to me! i did some of the orcs quests in vivec, and after i was guardian , percius made me guildmaster. then the orc went all hostile, and tried to kill me. (Hard-heart was already dead, because of an earlier... dissagreement with the thieves guild)
