Techinical problem. Game crashes at start.

I have this problem with the game: when it starts it crashes to windows right after. If I run the game under compainability with windows 2k/98/me it starts, shows intro, menu, but when i press start game it crashes to widows when half loaded. Did anyone had same problem.
System is above minimal requirements. Card: ATI Radeon 9500SE 128Mb.
Running under safe mod does not help.

yeah i had the same problem as well.
It has to do with your savegame , i'm afraid it's corrupted?

The symptons are similar like i had. It loads half the way (which already takes ages) and then it goes back to windows.

The things you can try is :

1) If it is indeed a corrupt savegame , start a new campaign
2) Update your video card drivers
3) get the latest version of direct X
4) Maybe reinstall the game

Well the thing is that I just installed the game, so it can`t be a savegame. I pressed "start campaing" and then it crashed after half loaded. Drivers are fresh, just installed and so is DirectX. Tried reinstalling the game several times and it didn`t help. Howether it crashes half loaded when I run it under complainability with Win 2k/me/98, so I can undertand this crash. When I run it without that options on it just crashes after the start with send/don`t send report window and I can`t understand this crash.
EDIT: Maybe the problem with ATI drivers as usual? People who use ATI cards and play game succesfully, please tell what drivers are you using. Mine are Catalist 5.10 which seems to be the latest.

well i use a ATI radeon 9800 pro gfx card.
It can handle the game very well.
The drivers that i use are downloaded from this location.

Do you use win XP???
Its mentioned in some threads that there are known issues with older versions.

Yes, I use XP and drivers I use are downloaded from the same place. Can`t see whats wrong.

Ok, sry for double post, just wanted to let you know that I got that problem solved. I`ll write how below in case anyone gas the same problem:
Run game under complainability with win 98 and reset the screen to 1024x768 100Hz, after this it stopped crashing at half load for me and works stabily now. Before that I hd 60Hz and it crashed.
