Fishing?

Please help,when I activate the fishing symbol I go to a cutscene.Must I only left-click when the noise stops?.The rest of the game is excellent but this part is doing my head in.Alternitivley could I forget the fishing or are there silver keys in the water?.

Welcome to GB.

There are a few to be found in the water.
When you see ripples and fish in those, some can be found.
Fishing isn't too bad, once you get the hang of it. Left-click when the noise stops and keep clicking until the noise starts again. If you keep repeating that you should eventually reel in the prize, whether it's a fish or something else.

Okay, first of all, you don't have to fish in the ripples only. That usually is indicated that something of value is in the water like a silver key, moonfish, wedding ring, fake wedding ring, will master's elixir, elixir of life, health potion,
will potion, or one of the various age potions (ages of might, age of skill, ages
of the will, age of speed). Fishing is really very simple. In the cutscene, you will be using the left mouse button only. Escape will take you out of it. To catch something a lot you're going to need to remember one basic rule. Patience is the key to victory. What you need to focus on is the long bar with
the fish icon on it at all times. This is a stress bar that shows how close the fish is and how far away it will take it to break the line. This is located in the upper right hand corner. Now, to hook a fish, a mouse will appear underneath.
You want to try the left click when the icon becomes solid. Next, don't just start reeling like crazy. Do keep left clicking which will keep up the reeling action. While you're reeling you want to watch the stress bar because it will change from green to brown and up to red. If you keep reeling when the stress bar is red, the line will snap. To remedy this, when the bar gets red quickly letoff the button and let the meter go back to green. Then start reeling again as much as you can always watching that bar. Repeat the let up
and leftclicking again and in no time you should be on your way to success. I
know it has been for me. I caught a 20000.0g moonfish so far.

Yeah, I didn't mean to suggest otherwise, just that the best stuff is from those areas. IIRC the champion's rod is required for fishing areas unmarked by ripples.

Nope - the Champions rod is just a strong rod which you get for winning the fishing competition. Possible making it possible to catch larger fish.
You (can) win the competition by catching regular fish outside the "ripples".

I'm on Xbox, and let me tell you about fishing. It never turns red, or brown, it stays green. Your reeling it in, line just snaps, aint that annoying?

it duz turn red and brown and green on xbox for me maybwe its like the bigger the catch the less colors like getting nostros armor

Sometimes it is so touchy that simply clicking once will break the line. You need to cautious, and listen closely if you want to catch.
