class combinations that are hard to play
class combinations that are hard to play
has anyone tried any combinations of classes that they found hard? these days no matter what character i try i find all 3 neverwinter nights games ridiculously easy so i'm looking for a combination that i can play on the hardest difficulty setting that will make it hard to complete the game. considering a half orc paladin/druid/mage so i level up slower and have to have more spread out stats. the other thing i was considering was a gnome fighter/druid.
I was actually advised to multiclass with a Paladin/Sorceror combnination. It sounded like madness at first, but as you get to higher levels, it begins to make sense. The argument was that Paladins gain immunity to Fear (and Disease?), so you take three levels of Paladin. You also get the automatic feats concerning armour for Paladins. Although this is not useful in the lower levels, so long as you concentrate on gaining Stilled spell, it comes into its own later on. The book also suggested concentrating of fire spells (she is classed as a Fire Mage, which is not, as far as I know, an 'official' class, but hey, it sounds cool). However, I played this class within SotU, and I didn't get any armour that made my armour class high enough to compete with Mage armour. I don't know what effect Paladin will have on the Druid class, but if want to make it hard for yourself, make sure you can wear heavy armour with maximum Arcane spell failure! Don't get the Stilled Spell feat.
Why not start with an Orc, go for Barbarian class and then become a Bard? What would that do?
How about giving yourself a Dexterity of 4, then playing a Rogue with a concentration on a bow as your weapon of choice?

Oh, OK, I see. Well, I think Orc/Barbarian/Bard would still hold true? Barbarian/Rogue? I'm thinking that Orcs (no offence) start with a Charisma disadvantage? Well, the emphasis would be on the strength and constitution, armour wearing, weapon toting?
Barbarian/Rogue would mean a disadvantage when wearing heavy amour.

Take Half-Orc as a Race then play a Sorceror/Bard. You get negatives to your Charisma and Intelligence, and it is role-playable since Orcs require mages too, but the singing Orc seems fairly unique. For the third class, try Ranger and concentrate on bow-skills. This is a path to an orc Arcane Archer, not a true one(just challenging). This combo would require you to keep his intelligence low(otherwise he might come to his senses, eh?) He could concentrate on his strength because he thinks he needs to pull the bow string harder.
You have me intrigued, by the way. I am gong to attempt this myself.
