Helm of Opposite Alignment

Yes!

It is true that there is a possibility to get Helm of Opposite Alignment without cheating!
I found it in Durlag’s Tower (level 1) after defeating Demon Knight – It was a hard but I did it

I’m writing this to let everyone know that it is possible because I was looking for it a LONG time so I want to “share my knowledge”.

I did it too, with the Otilukes Resilient Sphere trick. How'd you do it?

I haven't heard of this helm before despite beating the game on many occasions. So I ask; Does this helm do anything besides changing your alignment? Also why isn't this item in the GB guide for Baldur's Gate.

I’ve tried to defeat Demon Knight lots of times using everything I got. But without effect! He can not be harmed with any knocking off spells (sleep, confusion, paralyze). Also he is running after 10 seconds.
I though he is unstoppable but finally I used this Resistant Sphere.

But back to the Helm itself…
It don’t give any other special abilities but still -
It is a VERY useful item – I need it for Viconia in the second part. I wan to have a good team, max reputation and Viconia as a member

I want all this without cheating – now I can achieve this :devil:

Last thing – I’d never seen item hidden so deeply.
There is no way to find information about this Helm!
I mean that in every guide they tell you that it is impossible to find it.
Or maybe you know more mysteriously hidden items?

It protects against critical hits.

It allows you to (if you import the character) to abuse a certain part of the game by screwing around with your alignment.
