I think that bound armor spells are greatly overpowered, compared to other protective spells, like shield and sanctuary.
Shield effect spells are VERY costly, while you can get a much greater improvement (and longer lasting) to your armor rating with a, let's say, bound quirass spell.
Sanctuary is also a costly effect.
In general I end up using some heavy damaging spells, some luck and a couple of quickloads to fight serious enemies.
(My summons are also butter to most enemies)
Am I doing something wrong here?
Do you guys use burden, drain attribute and such spells?
If I'm rediscussing this matter please tell me so, though I didn't find anything similar browsing old posts
Thanks!
Imbalanced spells?

Just try, say, 20 Sanctuarity... In my experience you're going to hardly be ever hit, 100 isn't necessary, not nearly.
It reminds me my belief in the begining that Marksmanship is useless - now i just love bows
And then, they are spells form different schools, Illusion for Sanctuarity and Conjuration for all Bound items, skill plays very important role, so the corresponding attribute does, have you considered it?
I do not say it's very balanced, and i do not think even there ever was such purpose. Altogther it's one of the best games i've played ever - if not the very best one, and anybody could find an approach and the way what suits him best. It's a bit confusing at the beginings, though, one has to adjust the reasoning and to adapt (with exception perhaps for Daggerfall and Arena veterans).

Levitation and drain health = power munchkin. In all too many instances of outdoors attacks you can fly above your melee-only quarries who simply stand there, and pick them off. Drain Health in itself is unbalanced, since it goes through even Reflect.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Then what would you say about Absorb Health? It does no harm to you even if reflected, in area version goes through walls (many spells do) and heals you prmanently harming enemies - also permanently. Up to some late patch it even wasn't a subject for Reflect
Of course, it's unbalanced, any good game should be  since it adds to attracivity.

I don't see how Bound Armour spells are overpowered. By the middle of the game, casting a bound armour spell would already reduce rather than increase your armour, and you do have to pick heavy armour as a skill to make full use of it - and if you do, you would probably be wearing daedric or better by the middle of the game anyway.
The evil nature of GameBanshee revealed below!
GameBanshee sells Xandax to make ends meet
Then, as if that was not enough, they decide to get rid of me via sweepstakes as well

As i see it, Bound Cuirass and Bound Helm adds +5 to all your armor skills (Unarmored including) and acts as universal armor (with very high armor rating for itself). It has no weight. it's important enough, since very few new chars could carry full Heavy, moreover Daedric (and, even if he could. it'd let very little carrying capacity for other things). You can wear some other armor besides it and are going to gain benefit from the skill bonus for those other parts as well. I haven't used Bound armor for long (mostly unarmored with Savior's Hide and BoLS. relaying rather on Sanctuarity than on Shield, if you take my meaning), altogether, at least on the begining of the game, when +10 to armor skill are important enough, it's remarkable bonus, esp. for a char. with Medium or Heavy armor rather withstanding blows than dodging them. If one is able to cast them, of course.
BTW, armor rating of bound armor is at least almost the same as Daedric, if you take into consideration the skill - just like as weapons have the same characteristics as Daedric weapons. However, normal Daedric weaponry do not have those nice bonuses. In addition Bound weaponry weighs mothing. and you know what Daedric does.
