Warning: Pure Evil

Post by ammama »

I'm bored of treading the path of righteousness. Now I want my next party to be PURE EVIL. so. what are the most EVIL builds you can think off, from a roleplaying perepective:mischief:

How about a rogue/cleric of Mask and a fighter/stormlord (cleric of talos)?

God of shadows/thievery and god of destruction/storms...

Probably add in a barbarian, a necromancer, maybe a sorceror...
When your back is against the wall... the other guy is in a whole lotta trouble.

Sorry to disappoint your but you can't really play the game from a purely evil perspective - you can't randomly kill characters because it prevents you from progressing, you can't decide to join the Legion of the Chimera and raze Targos.

From a role playing perspective you'd best best aiming to have your operating from a Lawful Evil perspective, those who work within the boundaries of the law but for personal gain as opposed to altruistic desire.

*edit*
How about a rogue/cleric of Mask and a fighter/stormlord (cleric of talos)?
Cleric of Mask certainly, Mask as the Lord of Intrigue would certainly support his clerics involvement in the affair. I'm less certain why Talos would want a Stormlord involved as surely he would be thrilled by the prospect of Targos' destruction.
Probably add in a barbarian, a necromancer, maybe a sorceror...
Barbarian makes sense given the environment, perhaps a scheming Illusionist or Enchanter as opposed to a Necromancer (they would provide a balance to the blow everything-up- ness of the sorcerer)

I suppose you're right about pure evil. But what i meant was to pick a fight and insult people wherever i can. For example, with the two rangers at the horde fortress, I would kill Enelia immediately while she was wounded. I would then tell Branston that she lived, lead him to her dead body, and put a sword through him the second he realised i had betrayed him. I would avoid negotiation and just pick a fight wherever I could.

Ideas I have for builds so far. I tried to use all the evil races and all the evil classes.

A female drow cleric of bane. The best substitute I think for a cleric of Lloth.

A barbarian male half-orc. Pure crazy evil barbarian

A male teifling wizard. Possibley a necromancer. Will specialise in necromantic spells, and is basically a spell-sword

A male drow ranger/rogue. Drittz eat your heart out.

Race: Duergar (Grey Dwarf)
Class: Pure Fighter

Maybe a duergar in your team? Could be interesting.

The good thing about evil is that you can make a good power party and keep it role-played. For example...

The party leader is a female drow priestess of Bane or Talos. I used Talos for my party.

Her brother is a drow male warrior who has studied a little bit of magery (wiz 5 or 6/fighter x).

Her lover is a wizard who is observant and can pick simple locks and disarm simple traps (rogue 2/wizard x)

And their slave has learned to survive by many means. The three above characters love to torture the slave by sending it into battles then throwing fireballs at it and such dumb things like that. For this character, I used a deep gnome with many classes. It made for a great decoy, but never really got good in the normal game. In HoF mode it kicked tail. (I can't remember all the classes, just that monk and priest and fighter and rogue were among the mix-ins and the "main" was illusionist. It takes forever to build, but once it's done, it works.)

And that was my evil party and my first party which won the game. Well, the brother-male was a pure sorcerer and not a fighter, but that doesn't fit quite as well into the role-play, now does it?

For extra characters, I would consider other "slaves." A duergar fighter/barbarian would be nice, or a human sorcerer for extra damage potential.

a ranger x/monk y
should i add rogue levels? i want there to be quite a lot of ranger levels (i want to try a high level ranger). What race should he be?

A wizard x/fight y
basically my sepllsword. loads himself with buffs.

Interesting idea, not likely to be popular with the power-gamers, fortunately for you I'm not one of them. :D

Race wise if you are looking at either human or half-elf, that is assuming you stick with your original plan to have most ranger levels.

Adding rogue levels will add little advantage other than back-stabbing (or whatever term its known by in this game), in which case you might want to aim for 3 to get the extra damage.

You could try Ranger (X) Monk (3) Rogue (3) (although bear in mind that if you're only playing normal mode your ranger levels won't be much more than 10 by end game)

Max DEX and WIS - as you'll be fighting unarmored (unless you one of these strange people who puts monks in armor, which I've never quite understood)

I'd be tempted to use Weapon Finesse with this build, but that's just a personal preference.

Not really my thing I'm afraid, I use druids as the basis for my spell-swords. You could try checking one of the power-gaming guides as they will give you some ideas even if you decide not to follow the build exactly.

thanks! i'm liking this build! i might take the monk and rogue levels a little further though, maybe to 6 and 5...i'll have to see. but i really like it. I've made her into a wild elf, because it seemed to make most sense for a ranger. she's not that smart, and isnt that eloquent, but she has high wisdom, amazing dexterity, and above average strength and constitution. she'll dual weild small blades, porbably wearing no armour.

I still need a build for my wizard/fighter build...considering a teifling. possibley with a few rogue levels?

i also have a half orc barbarian i think

a druid (physically very frail because she's an old woman with low consitution, dexterity and strength) but very wise, intelligent and charismatic. she is an aasimar i think

...if you don't mind a power-build for your party try PC 1, PC 2 or PC 6 posted in my guide - they could all be evil builds without any problems!

PC 1 i quite liked the basics off. He was originally a tiefling but i think a drow suits him better. i may not add the mix ins, as i think they dont really suit him
The others though didnt seem EVIL enough....i need characters that reek of evil
I have decided to add bard levels to my druid. she''l probs be an all spell caster. story is she cant sing for her life any more since she is too frail and can barely spare the breath, but she can sing in bear form etc.

Can I ask why?

I should have asked in my last post, but are you planning to play HoF? If so I don't know how much good this build will do you.

You realise that she'll suffer heavy EXP penalities though. ;)

Aasimar make great single class druids, but aren't much good if you're planning to multi-class.

In this case I wouldn't recommend Aasimar

From a roleplaying perspective, an evil aasimar seems a little bit off. An aasimar possesses a small amount of celestial blood, and celestials are good outsiders. Granted there could be exceptions, but in my opinion and as a matter of my personal preference, an evil aasimar is just freakish.

so should i change the wild elf to a teifling? ah decisions decisions....

i suppose you're right about the aasimar. what should it be instead?

are the bard levels even worth it?. the way i see it i can have either a heavy spell casting druid with some bard levels for buffs, or a heavy shape shifting druid with sum self buffs, and acting as a tank with maybe some barbarian levels?

or perhaps should i add the bard levels to my cleric instead? i've heard ninth level spells aren't that useful so maybe multiclassing couldnt hurt?

I realize it's pretty dumb of me to offer a criticism without offering an alternative, but I'm not hardly a powergaming person. I have no idea what you should replace the aasimar race with; I always pick my races and classes purely on aesthetics. Odds are I'd have a far easier time with these games if I paid at least a little attention to balancing racial and class abilities, but I don't.

Tiefling favoured class = Rogue

Rogue (3) Monk (3) Ranger (X) would incur XP penalty because of the difference between the Monk and Ranger levels, i think I said in an earlier post you'll want either human or half-elf if you don't want the penalty

Are you playing just normal or do you plan to go to HoF?
