Lockpick skill - what is it good for??

Post by Beatrix »

I want to get inside the farmhouse in Orchard Farm!! :mischief: Did not use the chance during the neckles quest when the door was open. Now I've tried breaking the door, lockpicking it - no such luck  When I break the window I can see lots of possible looting opportunities innside :D Any advice?? (I have not yet tried the "digging with my back turned" trick)

If you do the quest where you escort the merchant from Lookout Point to Orchard Farm, the door to the house will be open at the end.

SWC
Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

Hi!

This is what I found in the "Sticky FAQ" on this forum:

"Digging trick, to dig into areas that are otherwise "blocked" off such as a gate or door or anything for that matter do this. Start by turning your back against the direction you wish to dig into, that means having your back FACING that direction. Then assign the shovel to a hotkey and use it, after the digging sequence you should notice you have moved a little further away towards the direction you have your back faced against. Reorientate yourself so your back is facing the direction you wish to dig again and repeat the process until you get through... or stuck."

I haven't tried it yet, but what possibilities..... :D

I am not sure if all locked doors can be lockpicked but most houses become locked at night. Approach the door of the house you wish to break into and make sure you are facing the door. I assigned the lockpick skill to a hotkey, press and hold the lockpick key until the bar at the top right of the screen fills. Once full (and assuming no one saw you) the door will swing open and you can steal away!

Thanks a million, Pat! Of course that must be the way, that's how almost everything works in Fable... ;) And Pure Evil; In my dispear, particularly at Orchard Farm, I also tried the demolition way. But that door did not give in:mischief:
