Can't Summon Creatures ??
Can't Summon Creatures ??
As the game goes on, I'm now just starting the quest of getting out of the asylum, I have always had a problem with summoning creatures. Throughout most of the game, I could only summon 4 before it said you can't have more than 5 or whatever. Well now, I can only summon 1 before it says that. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions?

***MINOR SPOILERS***
Have you had any creatures imprisoned via the spell imprisonment? Had you taken on a certain demi-lich before going to the asylum and had a bunch of your summoned creatures imprisoned?? Could be one possible cause........... I've not heard of it happening under any other circumstances.
Hope it helps

Imprisoned monsters will stop you from summoning your full count. I noticed this after fighting Kangaxx, the only way to fix this is walk around the areas where one fought high level mages and beholders casting freedom until everthing is freed.

Your summons are not able to follow you to other locations (meaning other maps).
I summoned a skeleton once (I think it was in Prebek's house, I'm not sure) and after the fight he was still alive. I left the house and found I couldn't summon more than four monsters. When I got back to that place (by coincidence, and much, much later)the skeleton immediately disappeared and the problem was solved.
Since then, I make it a habit to kill any of my summons before leaving a map .

I noticed another interesting oddity, when at high level the spell Project Image tends to last longer than wanted ~ imprisoning the image to free the caster has the unusual side effect of causing the caster to be held immobile when re-entering the map.
