Does anybody know... [possible spoilers]
Which NPCs are being carried over to NWN 2?
Im kind of hoping they bring Valen and Nathyrra. Those 2 were awesome in HOTU.

I don't, though I've looked a bit. Can't sya I'm surprised, as that kind of stuff is rarely announced far in advance (don't want to spoil the surprise ).
I agree with you on Nathyrra, but I never really liked Valen. I'd rather Sharwyn (I guess I have a thing for the ladies... ) or Deekin (comic relief) were in there instead.

I expect that NWN2 would start with you creating a Level 1 character so I doubt it's feasible that characters from NWN would be carried over (beyond a possible cameo anyway). NPCs from NWN would be too high-level to join the PC character and I doubt that Obsidian would decrease NWN NPC levels so they would be equal with yours.

I agree with Ravager. If we were to see them again, I would like to see them as merchants (They should not know you though) or quest givers.

I think I saw in the screenshots a map of the area around and including Neverwinter, so it looks likely that it will be in the same kind of locales as NWN1 (rather than just carrying over the name for the second title), but I don't know what timeframe it will be set in, I'd expect that it would be after the area has recovered from the events of NWN1.
Personally, i never liked the NWN NPC's i thought they were rather lifeless and unconvincing. So i guess i'll be glad if they begin again with completely new characters.
I suppose I agree, they weren't like BGII or anything but I don't know if that's the characters themselves or just that they didn't put alot of work into them... I thought Nathyrra from HotUwas better than any of the others.

Last thing I recall hearing about NWN2 was that you are starting a whoeo new character. The characters are now too high a level, and starting them at lvl 1 again would go against a roleplying aspect. Supposedly it sometime after the other games and neverwinter is rebuilding and you have to make your way asa hero. I thought I heard something about a few of the old characters coming back as a cameo, but nothing big since they are now high level as well. But of course they are being quite secretive about a lot of the aspects of this game, so I might have heard wrong...or jsut made something up in my head...

Yes. The characters most likely wouldn't join your party.
If any were carried over I'd like to see Deekin. That little guy rules.

It would be better, imo, even though I loved Deekin, to have some new guys.
Some that they have produced in the past I have loved to bits - but they would need some personality development to be viable in any new game. I mean... who didn't find Minsc amusing in Baldur's gate games? But would you still want him around now, except maybe as a cameo part? And Haer'Dalis was my absolute favourite - but I think he would probably drive me mad if he'd appeared in subsequent games.
Let's look forward to some new ones to love!

I have only seen 2 so far. Deekin is in the merchant sector as...well...a merchant. When you talk to him there are some conversational choices about him missing adventuring and stuff. Maybe you can pick him up later to join your party? The other NPC from NWN is Fenthic which you find in a tomb causing havoc. That's all for now but I haven't progressed very far in the game yet so maybe more will pop up? d
