Some questions mods/party

Okey so im gonna start a new game, and i have need help to form my party, any suggestions for NPC mods are welcome.

I've been planning making A Ranger/cleric or an Archer and here would be my party:

Me
Minsc/Keldorn
a Thief
solafeium (haer'dalis/keldorn/minsc before)
need somebody here
need somebody here

and then here's the problem: I want a full group and i have no idea who to take. If i was an archer it would most likely be some cleric, but what do you suggest?

EDIT: oh gosh, i just noticed chloe is SoA only

. Now i really need suggestions.
EDIT2: since chloe wont most likely be in my party i dont need imoen either. Or can chloe be used in ToB if he's in the party when SoA ends?

When it says "SoA, only" for the content, I believe they mean SoA-only dialog and quests. Chloe's still with you in ToB, but hasn't got anything to add to the party.

As has been repeatedly written here over 6 years (and only occasionally by me), any party can win the game. It's just a matter of 1) your style of playing and 2) how difficult you want to make it for yourself. If you already know the game pretty well, you might want to handicap yourself in some strategic way: perhaps removing all the obvious tanks, or leaving out a very central profession (a mage, thief, or cleric).

That said, a standard vanilla BG2 party has at least the following:

Fighter/paladin
thief
cleric
mage

Are you looking for a good/neutral party? If so, consider adding one of the Kelsey, Tashia or Tsujatha mods. For a cleric, unfortunately your best choices are only in the game: Anomen or Viconia (though the latter's "evil"). For more of a challenge, add Aerie: potentially one of the strongest party NPCs in the game, she's slow early on because she's multiclass (cleric/mage). I would also suggest a second tank early on, since you don't get Soulafein for a while, even if you cut the chapter 2 quests short. Perhaps both Minsc and Keldorn? Or Saerileth, a paladin mod?

Considering there have been numerous people on here throughout the last 6 years that know far more about the game than I do, I suspect the forum would do just as well.

so here's the deal:

Ranger/cleric (PC) Got a super roll (total:93, charisma 3, others 18 and str was 18/9x,used ring to get all to 18

)
Yasheara
Chloe
Imoen (yoshimo till that)
Solafeium

So, i was thinking whom to pick (I decided to try to finish the game with 5 characters, for faster xp you know

)
1st Can i go till spellhold with only 4 chars and no mage (I usually do all chapter 2 quests before)
2nd After spellhold, with 4 all the way to ust natha for solafeium (Or pick someone else from chapter 2 and kick him out for sola)

I really need you'r opinion and you could also suggest a 6th party member. It isnt locked out since i just only got out of irenicus dungeon

EDIT: If i do all chapter 2 quests and im have lotsa xp. Let's assume that i'd have 2 million, then untill i get to ust natha ill have even more, will sola have as much xp as my other characters, even though i could set his xp to the same levels as the others (sk)
