Well, whether that works with every version or patch, somebody should hopefully have mentioned of such already.

At least in my case, I generally dislike using such exploits.
Dungeon Crawl Inc.: It's the most fun you can have without 3 midgets and a whip! Character stats made by your's truly!

It works with the latest patch. Also, the Ring of Free Action is useless for a Monk as he/she gets it naturally. Gauntlets of Extraordinary Expertise should be mentioned also.

Boots of Speed should be worn by a top Monk. With BG2 or G3 fixpack, these don't grant Haste(which Monks are immune to), but instead increase movement speed, thus giving the already lightning-quick monk a rocket boost.

The Ring of Free Action is a must for a Monk. Since the monk is anyway immune to Slow and Haste, he will have absolutely no drawback from wearing the ring, but will gain all the benefits (immunity to Hold person spells and effects(demons and undead have such abilities), Entangle, Grease, Web, and, with G3 fixpack installed, immunity to Stun also).

The Pale Green Ioun Stone seems to be the best helmet for a Monk(both HP and THAC0 bonus). The Gauntlets of Crushing are way superior than the ones of Extraordinary specialization, because of the +4/+4 bonus(the others grant +1/+2 bonus, and an extra 1/2 attack - oh great, 9/2 instead of 4).

The Amulet of Power should not be wearable by a Monk in the first place. Amulet of Seldarine is good, but the Amulet of Cheetah Speed may be even better in certain occasions.

A solo Monk should assemble all weapons, granting permanent immunities/resistances, and spell-like abilities. For a monk these include:

Arbane's Sword(until the Ring of Free Action)
Ilbratha(mirror image)
Dragonslayer(Detect illusion, immunity to fear)
Daystar(sunray)
Adjatha the Drinker(Immunity to Charm and Domination)
The Equalizer(Immunity to Charm and Confusion)
Sword of Balduran(MR bonus)
Hindo's Doom(MR bonus, immunity to Death magic)
Spectral Brand and/or Angurvadal +5(lvl drain immunity)
and other swords, but these are the most important ones.

Also, warrior HLAs are lame for a Monk. Hardiness, for instance, grants him only 40% resistance to physical damage, while any other warrior class will have at least 60%(and F/T or Barbarian will have 80-85%) with the help of certain items or innate abilities. Only Critical Strike, GWW and Smite are somewhat useful.
I advise installing the Oversight mod, which replaces all of the monk's HLAs with completely different, and far more useful ones.
