Technical Help for the PC

Post by Revan_Reborn225 »

I just bought the PC version of TSL. Anyway, I got the the game home, installed it and when I went to play it, it immediately went "Not-Responding"
The scan computer option in the configure menu says that I have a Windows 1.1.0 OpenGL and that I need a Non-Windows Generic OpenGL 1.4.0, I'm completely illiterate about this stuff so I needed help to begin with. The interesting part was that I downloaded what were supposed to be 2 different versions of these 1.4.0 drivers. I followed the directions I was given, but my game doesn't work still. Can anyone please help me? Or at least suggest what I may be doing wrong.

Without knowing your system specs, there is only speculation. Can you list the operating system, RAM, graphic card, etc???

Moving on, I did a yahoo search on Non-Windows Generic OpenGL 1.4.0
Found this on another board

First guess is that your graphics card isn't up to snuff.
If it's an S3 card as indicated by the error, they're generally not stunning pieces of kit, and may not do (in hardware) the funky stuff that KOTOR2 requires of them.
However, check the manufacturer's website (the videocard) for some more recent drivers if there are any, and try again: they may be able to fake it in software, so the game will still run.

If, with updated drivers, it still doesn't work, you may need to beg/borrow/buy/steal a better graphics card off somebody else - alot of stuff these days is only explicitly warranteed for ATI or Nvidia cards. End Quote

So it seems to be a graphic card issue. Go to the manufacturers site & see if a new driver is available. FYI I am playing with a 800 x 600 in 64K Colors, NVIDIA GeForce2 MX Ver. 6.14 & game runs (barely, but can play). Also, going to MSN.com & updating your windows system from there might help as well.
