Dunno why, but It won't let my friend or I connect to each other using DIrect IP....I give him my external IP and he tries to connect to me and it doesn't work. Then I try to connect to him...etc.. Any idea on how to fix it?

If you have a router, then you will have to forward Port 2606 to your LAN IP.
Regardless if you have a router or not, you may want to disable Windows Firewall if your computers are directly connected to the internet as it can block the connection also.
Without more information of your setups, it's hard to help.
