I was probably the very first "Boo-hoo, my computer is weak and barely able to function" member back in the day. I eventually figured out how to get VTMB to work reasonably well even on a Pentium 1.5 GHz. I just had to slot in an extra .5 Gb of memory to help me out.
I just bought a new computer. Athlon 64 x 2 3 GHz, 256 Mb video card. At full speed, VTMB can get dizzying pretty quick. For the first couple of days I was over-correcting all over the place. I was accustomed to a certain amount of delay. Knocking out two Head-runners in .3 seconds was unheard-of.
However, having seen the galaxy from both sides, so to speak, if you have performance problems with VTMB, my advice is now this: Here's a nickel, kid. Buy a computer. You can squish bits and pieces out of various parts by stealth, sneakiness, and sheer treachery (I've been doing it for a year), but nothing works like pure horsepower. VTMB on Celerity is a totally different experience. You'll find yourself doing embarrassingly agressive things.
