Do these skills work?

Does anyone in the forum know if:

The skills Parry and Bargain work in v1.1?

Geez I can't even remember what worked with 1.1. Save your game and put some points in parry skill and watch in the lower left hand corner and see if your parry statistic goes up. If not then exit the game without saving. With 1.3 parry doesn't work and bargain does. If parry works with 1.1 then jack up your parry and then down load 1.3 is my advice. Parry did work with either 1.0 or 1.1 (or both) but they seem to have disconnected it ever since. I have always assumed it was because it made your character too strong, thus my suggestion to jack it up if you have the chance. There are other reasons to down load 1.3, more spells and a more balanced game. D

I'm stuck with v1.1 currently because of technical problems. I can't upgrade to v1.3. I 'm hoping that DLCE will fix my problems, I've been told it will. :speech:

I tried what you said and Parry does seem to work with v1.1. THANK HEAVENS--a skill that works!! Unreal that it doesn't work in v1.3 now when it worked in an earlier release. Go figure.

Bargain, however; is broken in v1.1. I had zero points in it, bought something, marked the price and then reloaded and raised it 3 points. Bought the same item and the price was the same. Saved game with 3 points in skill to see if something needed to be saved in the game mechanics to activate the skill, reloaded and again, the same price for the same item. Added more points to Bargain upon reloading and once again, same price for the same item. I can conclude that Bargain doesn't work in v1.1 You get the same price on an item reguardless of the skill level in Bargain. Ditto for adding points to honor--went through the same routine. No effect. Neither effect the price of an item in v1.1.

Since that is the case, I suppose there's no reason to put points in honor period since the game isn't checking honor for advancement, either. Can you think of any?

No need to put points in Honor untill patch 1.4. D

Actually you do need... for the jobs if not for bargain.
And... what do you mean technical problems ? coss if you could get 1.4 and you stay with 1.1 - you miss alot of the game fun dude...
