This happened when I fought the ugly guy in the Warrens, and now when I go into the Glaze Niteclub and kill the guy in the room with the Max Headroom ******* talking to me, it still 0's out. I think it may be an unusual glitch. Pisses me off because isn't that pretty much why we fight and finish quests is to gain exp points? Anyone have a clue how to fix this problem? I made sure my automatic was off, and it still didn't give me anything. Maybe I should try it with automatic on, you think?

Yeh, okay. It is possible there's a glitch, but also in the Glaze Nightclub, isn't that not the actual end of the quest? I don't remember, but maybe you don't get your full XP reward until the completion of the whole quest? Try with automatic on, write down your stats before you do it and then check afterwards to see if there's a change. If there is, you've found your problem. If not, it has to be a glitch.
Does the game actually tell you that you've gained xp after doing these things? Does it make the SCHZOOOOM noise and come up with the green writing at the top of the screen saying "3 xp gained" or something like that?

Oo... I think I've figured it out too... your game doesn't do the opposite, it has just confused you. Your automatic has been on all the time even though appearing to be off. The button said "Automatic Off", right? Well that actually meant that the Automatic was on, and by pressing the button you could turn it off... although you interpreted it to mean that it was off. Ah... *feels smart for figuring it out*

Seems like you guys hit on an aliasing bug - nice work, BTW - aliasing bugs are fiendishly difficult to find. The state of the Automatic is recorded in two places in a save game, and somewhere along the line (probably during a crash) one got set and the other one did not. The programmer was using a fairly conventional trick (setting the flag to be NOT the flag and setting everything else from there), so the display and the flag went out of phase with each other. Were I either of you, I would not look for that bug to persist in your next new game, so keep an eye out.
