I'm up to the underdark section in bg2, having to collect blood and things like that for a quest. It says to defeat the lizards, mind flayers or beholders. When i defeat the beholders and the main guy no items are dropped. Has this happened to anyone else because its really frustrating because the walkthrough says that u get part of the sword from it.
I had already defeated the lizard guys and had their blood or whatever when i talked to the npc and accepted the quest, so maybe that is effecting it? i have defeated the beholders several times and still haven't gotten any items.
If anyone could help it would be much appreciated because i don't really wanna go on until i have this sorted out

The items are dropped by the elder orb in the very first room you enter. Is this the 'main guy' who is not dropping items? - Curdis !
