Problem with unofficial patch 2.0

Post by Avan »

I've recently tried to install the recent 2.0 patch and I've encountered a problem that I haven't met before with these patches.

The attached jpeg file is a shot of the error message I receive when the game boots up, this error stops the game from loading entirely.

I uninstalled the game completely and manually removed any remaining files, re-installed the whole game, the 1.2 official patch and the 2.0 unofficial patch and the error still appears.

I've searched the forum and I can't find any other posts about this.

Any help will be appreciated.

You can go to the thread below (at Planet Vampire) and read the solution. Pay particular attention to post #5 and #6, which is written by the unofficial patch creator, Wesp5.

Thanks for that, it loads ok now. I'm a little concerned (only slightly) about what effects removing those files will have in the game. But since the guy who made the patch suggested removing them I assume they're not ultimately vital.

Again, thanks.

Five gets you ten that they're overrides of the default config and nothing to worry about at all.
