This info was revealed recently in an interview with a Dev, here.

Quote.
"While answering fan questions for the much anticipated Gothic 3, Michael Rüve, CEO of Piranha Bytes, recently revealed plans for a new edition of the still very popular Gothic 1 classic. This multilingual international edition (English/German) is already in the making and due for publication later this month. Stay tuned and check their webshop for new entries."
Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

It periodically shows up on various auction sites (eBay, Amazon, etc) for as low as $10.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I recommend buying it, Gothic is one of the best games ever made
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

I don't think Acleacius was looking for recommendations. ;) He was just passing along that material. Besides, Gothic III will be out in a matter of months, and for those who want it, Gothic II offers a configurable keyboard--something that was never in Gothic, and was always a problem.
