Post by dlowrey »

As I usderstand it, I cant go any higher in Medium Armor/Weapons than I am curently at in Light Armor/Weapons.

So, how high should I go in Light weapons/Armor before starting on Medium?

Actually, there's no limit but you only need a certain amount for each skill. The following save editor (if you have 1.4) allows you to safely experiment to see what I mean (both files have to be in the same location, desktop is best. When you run it, it says 1.3 but it works with 1.4 and the first time you have to tell it where the save files are);

I am running CE (1.5) so I assume the editor wont work for me.

How high do folks generally go with weapon and armor skills?

It short weapons, armor and shield skills need only be raised when you find a new item that requires a higher skill level to remove penalties (strength may need to be raised too). With weapon skills raising your skill to 5 gives you an advanced move with increased damage. Dual weapons skills only need 1 skill point and that’s all... ever. Magic weapons needs to be raised to the level stated on the weapon or they don't fully work. Whether magic weapons do higher damage at higher levels is questionable. D
