My Urgoth need Jenny Craig?
It would seem that my Urgoth character is too large to reach the top of the tower in Lake Lohr. I can climb both ladders, but at the top of the second he can not fit through the hole and just climbs in place. I've tried every manuver I can think of to pop though that hole to the top, but to no avail. Anyone else have this problem or is my Urgoth just too chubby?

That sounds like a goofy bug. Have you tried stripping down your character? Maybe that will make him a little thinner. You might also try dropping down and trying the ladder again from the start.

Yep, I'm playing CE. I've tried taking all equipment off with no success. Got a few catcalls from the pirahnas though... I've also tried backflipping, jumping, going up and down the ladder, but nothing will get me through. The ladders to the second floors in Skulldoon work fine - only this one has been a problem.
welps! i was desperate so i took the long way and swam across that huge lake.
another alternative route is to head towards Talendor and then head west and slightly south. Evetually you should get to the swamp/rotten woods area. You can take that all the way down to the river that runs through Arindale.
I hope that's true and that they post it soon. My Urgoth is itching to get to Arindale. Although, if i get really desperate I'll take the long way:
Head over towards Talendor and swim across the lake.
Actually, if you examine the map closely, it is a shorter run when you leave Fargrove to go north to Talendor and then loop down to Arindale. Just don't swim. Run around the edge of the lake. Try timing both routes and you'll see. A crystal of vision can make it almost as fast to run by the south loop though by helping you navigate between loops in the road.

If you stand at the bottom of the top ladder, try climbing till you're stuck, then hit shift again to climb down but don't move from where you land. Now Save game. Quit DL CE and open the save with a hex editor, preferably Hex Workshop 4.2. Scroll to the bottom of the file and notice three groups of data, among all the 0000000's with a line or so each that has numbers and letters.
The third group from the bottom is what you want. The first two addresses are for reference and it doesn't matter what as long as they're there and here's what the entire line will be, or close to it The periods and xyz is to show you where they're at:
........x................y................z......
E1 1249 5BE2 1545 9792 9549 00
hex 1249 is actually reversed from what the calculator shows and it's 18706
hex 1545 is 17685, but instead of 1545, change it to 5046 and save the hex.
load the game and you'll be walking on top of the tower, just hit any direction key to stop moving. Invoke the shrine and wait till the spirit vanishes. Now it's possible to stand on the shrine and jump to the top of the battlement, it takes time to hit the right location.
or stand at the correct side of the ladder top, face it and save again. hex the save and change the Y coordinates back to 1545.

DL CE has bugs coming out of the wazoo
I once got stuck in the air trying to jump out of an open window...
I'm also stuck in the lake lohr tower... as if that shade wasnt pesky enough what with its temporarily paralyzing spells then the lake's filled with piranhas, mushmen in the hoardes followed me to the island...
...And im stuck all because of a glitch.

Edit: I figured it out. To see my entire original post, click here.
I used the game's poor setup against itself, and found a way to get my Urgoth to the top of the tower without Hex editing and without cheating. I don't know how to link to my post in a different thread, so I'll just copy and paste what I posted there; hopefully this will help people like me who chose to be Urgoth before they knew what they were in store for.
1) Save the Urgoth's singleplayer game immediately below the level of the Tower that has the Altar of Peace that grants the Mark of Ordained Favour. Quit to main menu.
2) Create a multiplayer LAN game.
3) Load any character OTHER than Urgoth (I used a Zaur and it worked fine), and load the Urgoth's singleplayer game.
4) The Zaur is now at the same place the Urgoth was: one level below the Altar of Peace.
5) Climb the ladder to the upper-most level, and save your game in a new slot. Quit to main menu.
6) Create a multiplayer LAN game.
7) Load your Urgoth into the Zaur's multiplayer game. Your Urgoth is now at the top level of the tower.
8) Save your game (in another slot, if you wish). Quit to main menu.
9) Load the most recently saved game as a singleplayer game. Your singleplayer Urgoth is now at the top of the tower, able to receive the Mark of Ordained Favour.
10) At this point, I jumped up to the Altar, and then onto one of the ramparts. You will be able to jump on top of one of them; keep trying until you find the right one. BUT! Don't make the mistake I did like 3 times... once you get on top of the rampart, you will probably be over a bit of the island, which will of course kill you if you've been mashing the spacebar and jump to the ground below. Just simply walk around until you find where you can safely jump to the water below, and swim back to shore. You can now pass through the Elven Outpost.
Hope this helps alleviate some frustration for people who have experienced this behaviour.
Lateron.

Still Stumped
Cant seem to make this work. Do you have to have a LAN set up for this procedure. Guess I will go with out and take the long route around.embrezar wrote:Edit: I figured it out. Yes, you can cheat if you *really* want to but you can also modify your character's x,y,z coordinates. Save your game with your urgoth just underneath the second ladder than try different values for the coordinates. It will probably take some trial and error, but it should work. Also be sure to make a backup of your saved game before editing.
additional info:
warning: make sure that you have a 4 or more in the athletics skill! for some reason, i could not jump onto the outer ridge of the tower. I had to back-flip onto it.
Using this editor definitely can resolve the fat urgoth problem. here are the steps i took:
1) save your game with your urgoth positioned underneath the second ladder.
2) open up the saved game with the editor and change the y coordinate to 14900
3) perform the 'use' action on the altar to get the mark of the ordained.
4) back flip onto the outer ridge of the tower and find a spot to jump into the water.
5) those darn tree-hugging elves should now welcome you with open arms.
the end!

that procedure was written very precisely, and work well. no Lan setup is need, just click host twice load your single player save game and insert a new, smaller char. he does the climbing, your urgoth does the rest. i think war-wiz said something similar in one of his posts. i would much more trust this method than subjecting my char to the editor.canis4play wrote:Cant seem to make this work.
