Black Screen when game starts+monitor shuts off

Hi to everyone and sorry for bringing an old problem in the forum.I have just installed VTMB and when I try to run the game I see all the promos (nvidia logo etc) but when it goes to the menu, I see a black screen and then the monitor shuts off (iiyama vision maste pro 454) and I get an error fh....fv.... and then fh126 fv 2021, probably it has something to do with the refresh rate? I have red all the old threads about the problem but there is no clear solution there.I have installed the latest nvidia drives, the new patch.
P4 3.0Ghz
1Ghz memory
Geforce 6600 GT 512

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hiya,

Had the same problem - go to windows start > run >dxdiag. Then go to the last tab and set the override for the monitor refresh rate, exit dxdiag and run game. This solved the blacking out for me. A search on the activision suport forums will also give this solution bdw.

....went to dxdialog, found the override tab but what value should I put on the box?or should I just leave it blank?
