CONTAINS SPOILERS, highlight below to read:
You need to go through the well if you want to deal with Maegel - I think success is linked to your char's constitution. If you click on the well, it will give you the choice to attempt to go through it. If nothing happens or the well spits you back out, try to get a hold of a buffing potion like Potion of Endurance or maybe even Bull's Strength.

Its CON, so drink a potion of Endurance.
