The Furthest You've Come with the Same Character

Post by dragon wench »

As I completed another faction with my Breton thief/mage last night it occurred to me that I have never done as much with the same character. In the original game, she has finished everything except the Temple, Morag Tong and Fighter quests (still plan to do the first two listed), and I have yet to touch the expansions.

I've had a pattern of either beginning new characters or reinstalling the game because of mod conflicts, but this time I have been extremely careful, and my Breton is a level 40 powerhouse

Anyway, I'm curious about how much of the game people have played with the same character, as well as the race and class of that character.

I've played through plain morrowind, done the main quests, a stronghold, and all the guilds I could, then I went to mournhold (the first expansion) and finished the main storyline, then I've started the third part with a level 30-40 fighter oriented Nord, then I've started the plot to become a werewolf and stopped, it felt kinda pointless.
Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.

Breton level 60
Mage, Fighter, Thief, Telvanni, Temple and Morag tong as well as the main quest and tribunal.

I'm going to try to do all of the imperial quests as well

I suffer from restartitis. I seriously think I've put hundreds of hours into this game, but I've restarted about 5 times. My previous character was boss of all the guilds, and I was halfway through the main quest... and then the affliction struck, and I restarted.

Does anyone else think that RPGs are more fun in the first half, than in the second half? Being strong and kicking butt is nice, but there's something about being a newbie, fresh off the boat, scrambling to acquire basic armor and weapons, that is even more fun.

I am the last person to ever complain about a game being too long. I hear this from weekend gamers: "It's too long! I can't finish it!" Uh huh. I see no reason for a game to ever end (do you?); I want as much content as I can get. It's not a card game.

I have both expansions, and I am determined to play them this time around. And I always play a Nord.

Well, my farthest going character was the second most recent, who was an evil argonian warrior/mage. He made it through all the factions except the imperial cult and legion, which I would have done, except for that I agree with Dagoth Ur (you know, that Imperials suck and don't deserve such power). Anyways, after doing all the quests I could find, I was about level 72, and one clothesline from my staff could kill just about anything, so I downloaded the "ten times difficulty slider" mod, where every tick on the dificulty slider counts as 10, and I started playing at 450% dificulty. Then I got all of those "omg you gotta get this mod because its so sweet and you'd regret it if you didn't try it" quest/landmass mods, and finished them too. After that, there really was not much left to do, so I killed every NPC i could find, got about 300k bounty, then I started a new file and started looking for new quest mods.

I'm certain you could measure the percent of my life I spent on my Darkelf in a two-ciphered number. She had just reached level 68, and had completed just about every mission i could find anywhere, in the game and in the walkthroughs and forums..

Even the entire Bloodmoon, and nearly all of Mournhold (I didn't complete all the sidequests), plus ghostpath and infernos island and a couple of smaller ones.

I was just about to start on the Imperial Legion faction when the lightning struck and permanently retarded my computer. There was nothing I could do for the savegames. :(

Anyway, I needed a new one to play Oblivion so I'll just look at the bright side of it all: I got my social-life back, at last... until oblivion comes :)

Most of my chars were Bretons, though i have all kinds of Elves as well. Well, i do not have Tribunal (i.e i have, but in version incompatible with Bloodmoon - such happens in bordelands like mine, where the West do not care and the East fllods in production illegal or one step from it).
MW+BM i have finished with each of races mentioned above with different levels. Never have reached 70th, though, had never had the patience - and saw no reason to wait so long.
Most of chars sort of Nighblades/Wichhunters - modifications of my own though, the spirit was the same, stealth mages with good weapon skills. Newer killed a NPC without reason :D (an item he had carried was never a reason for me).
Since i have strong belief that one is responsible for what he's thinking and that the a thought has even more power than a deed (though not so evident and obvious) i try to act also in the game on way not to be ashamed IRL.
